Those are people who buy a Z06 with their own $80,000. Not the same as someone who spent $300 on a rental. It’s the same difference as when a 60 year old guy get a young trophy wife, he’s not doing the same things with her that she’s doing with the guy that picked her up for the night at the club.
You could either build a brand image around creating amazing driving machines while 3/4 of your sales are SUVs and have enough cash flow to continually create amazing cars for the 5% that care like BMW and Porsche. Or you could only build amazing driving machines and be on the verge of bankruptcy more or less always…
Cars worth this much are typically rebuilt by the factory because the insured value far exceeds the cost for rebuilding everything, even if the only thing original on the “repaired car” is the chassis plaque.
