McLaren keeps saying they’re making 106 of these because they made 106 F1s. However 7 of the 106 F1s were prototypes, of which 2 crashed, 2 remain with McLaren and the other 3 eventually made it to private collectors. So now does the 106 Speedtails include prototypes? Because I have also seen them say all 106 are

It’s a prototype for testing the chassis, brakes and tires.

I can drive a manual trans 1 handed.  It’s called practice.

Another thing that annoys me is that the announcers continuously explain everything like I’ve never watched the race and have a single digit IQ. Green/White/Checker has been around for what? a decade now? Yet every week they explain it like NASCAR implemented it mid week. You dont get that in baseball. Can you picure

Also - insanely increasing ticket prices, building the same cookie cutter track everywhere, killing off small tracks that were unique, sponsors sucking the personality out of the drivers.

Nothing is more expensive than a cheap Ferrari.

And not putting an awful transmission in it.

They can build up to 325 a year under their exemption, and plan to build 15 a week. Someone might want to check their math.

About half of Schumi’s wins didnt involve any racing. The only difference is that you saw 14 less cars getting lapped.

Yes, if BMW made a limited run of manual M3, and dropped in a couple standard performance upgrades, and no options (neither the 1M or 911R had more than 1 or two options), dealers would get $30k over sticker and they would be worth twice a SMG (or whatever they call it now) in 5 years.

Challenger, Mustang and Camaro owners dont put the power down, the convert power into a cloud of smoke. And that’s why they buy the car.

The demand was there because production was so low.  They made 740 1Ms and 300 911Rs for the US. If the production was 10x that they would have had trouble selling them.

This car really makes me sad, I’d have one right now if they had the same depreciation as every other M car.  But no, they had to make it a super limited production so the values never dropped.

Assuming they make a M4 version, this would be a turbo charged straight 6 AWD with a manual.  Isnt that the R34 we’ve wanted for the last 20?

I just want exhaust noises played through the speakers and M color stitching on every surface, even the fake carbon fiber trim.

Stuttgart is 3 hours from the Nurburgring.  They can look at a the weather forecast and go make a run.  A little harder to plan your trip for good weather when you’re traveling from halfway around the world.

When does McLaren release a Senna lap time?  That is supposed to be the ultimate track car.

THis has been for sale for a while, and it was listed at $1.2m this sumer, so until someone is crazy enough to spend 4x the price of a normal SLR on the MSO upgrades, I’m not going to say it’s appreciated.

Yeah, that’s the one, shows up at Supercar Saturday, it’s been for sale for a while, listed at $1.2m a few months ago.

I don’t know if a transmission has ruined a car more than that did to the SLR.
