I'm actually curious to know what the rule would be if they kicked the ball out of bounds. I believe in the NFL the line of scrimmage becomes a defined number of yards from where the kickoff took place (30 yards?). Would it be a half the distance penalty?

Amen. Without even touching on stylistic issues, I am finding so many fundamental errors in grammar. As much as I enjoy the information contained in these articles, they are a chore to read.
