Agreed. The show charts progress (for most of the characters) from stereotypical antisocial nerds to fairly well-adjusted people. Through the seasons they improved on their interactions with others, learned how to have healthy romantic relationships, and eventually married. There are a lot of worse sitcoms out there.
And I think TBBT helped move the needle. A lot. Growing up in the Satanic Panic and having to sneak around to play D&D and listen to certain music, to now having those same parents laugh at and not condemn characters for playing D&D is a bigly win.
