The Question

She’s an official surrogate who continues to stump for Warren and considering the Sanders campaign has had to answer for things done by rando volunteers, yes.

Yeah, but in the past the Root community was able to pretty actively self police, and people were good about not replying directly to trolls. with the recent uptick in trolling attempts, more seem to be seeping through.

Brain status: Chicken and herb.

Speaking of this debacle, to TPTB: how did y’all manage to fuck up Deadspin as badly as you did, in fact, fuck it up?

He would recommend you form a union to voice your concerns.

Eh, The Root was always going to have dedicated trolls. It’s almost like they have to subsidize that which they hate, because they’re fucking morons.

This was legit my most frequented blog on the internet. I will miss all of you.

Hey look over there! The National Review has an article about 10 Reasons Why the Impeachment is Illegitimate! And one of the last places that anyone would explain to YOU why that’s all bullshit, is now gone.

It’s unfortunate that Splinter has ceased. This means the trolls that mucked up Splinter have bled across other platforms (Jezebel, The Root) and it’s definitely hurt the quality of the conversations that can be had in the comments.

What I’ve learned from Splinter is to take a break from politics and try and be more

Then one day, they met a man, who came to them and said

How Splinter and Deadspin were handled was atrocious, the having Splinter go dead and having no announcement whatsoever was shitty on the part of Spamfiller and Madman. They should have dropped in a post like this when they pulled the plug.

True story: Jim Spanfeller’s resume is just a soggy cardboard box.

RIP Splinter

I miss Splinter’s coverage daily. Loved that it was a (in the best possible terms) mixed bag of what to expect. It was clear that there was a mission to write, and write well about basically anything. RIP Splinter.

Thanks for everything guys.

I loved Splinter / Deadspin because...

Splinter was good. Gawker was good. Deadspin was good, when it wasn’t sticking to sports.

Splinter dies and this world becomes a little less enjoyable.

Splinter was a damn good website.
