I think a lot of her shows, at least the ones I watch (Scandal, HTGAWM, and The Catch) alternate between being fast paced and fun enough to where you don't notice the flaws to being 60 minute demonstrations of every flaw the show has.

I'm so confused by Mellie as a character, because she's become a mouthpiece for these long speeches that contradict everything else that has come before her on the show.
