I love how crazy it is and it's good soapy fun. Plus Simon is horribly cute.

I'm guessing it will be a character introduced this season. It's weird how much this season's flash forward resembles the same flash forward from season 2 of Damages.

The first season of Scandal pretty much had the exact same character. His contribution was sex, recently in a relationship when the show started, and tried to balance being monogamous with his skills as a flirt.

Didn't he already do that?

I think Mellie earned a lot of love for the episode that revealed that she had been raped. And while that is awful, she used her rape to manipulate her rapist into lying to her husband so he'd run for office.

I feel like Connor and Oliver exist to cater to fans because I never really buy their relationship. It was so rushed.

It doesn't make a lot of sense, really. The writing doesn't do much to provide any real motivation for why he's doing it because he somehow brings up the trash can situation as being Cookie's fault?

The only way it makes sense is if Jamal is finally get some level of validation that he's seemingly wanted from his father for the first time and he doesn't want to lose that. Or maybe he's using his supposed love for his father as justification when he really just likes the power that comes with the position.

The problem with Santana was that she was such a mean character that I didn't really care that much. She spends several seasons insulting people and calling Finn fat that I was kinda glad she got called out. And given Ryan Murphy's shallow treatment of homophobia, there never felt like any danger to her being outed.

If someone looks at her and feels inspired, then that's fine. But I can't get past her behavior on Top Model, which was either how she really behaved or a character she was willing to play for the camera. I understand that a lot of stuff can be fabricated, but it was such a long standing thing with her on the show and

THIS IS NOT AMERICA'S NEXT TOP BEST FRIEND!

But it's fairly common for girls to get critiques saying that they're "too men's magazine".

That's true, but Tyra has a tendency to present herself as rebelling against the fashion industry while also telling girls how best to conform to its standards. So it's a lot of "You're curvy, which is wonderful and amazing, and here's how to hide that fact."

I once read that designers prefer discovering models and making them their muse vs a reality show sort of pushing a girl and saying "Here's the new hot thing!", which is probably why the more successful girls from the show parlayed their careers into acting/hosting gigs as opposed to modeling. The exposure is better

She says girls with large breasts have to learn to pose so their breasts look smaller, otherwise they look "hoochie".

I'd say so, otherwise you're attributing her being inspirational solely because of her appearance. Yes, it is great that she's making people feel better about themselves, but at the same time she was really nasty to people on the show.

The problem with the show is Tyra and how she treats the girls, because no one can be different without it being called out and with Tyra patting herself on the back for it. It feels less like "You're beautiful no matter what" and more like "Aren't you glad Tyra took pity on you?"

Too bad she was awful.

Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and then Best Actor.
