The US military already does this, I can't remember on what, either on subs or aircraft carriers.

If they follow the Destiny model of “cosmetics only” and most of them are obtainable just through gameplay...then it’s fine. If they start throwing in items that create a gameplay advantage or “time savers” to reduce grind (i.e., “buy this thing to make the game less shitty”), then there’s a problem.

Not really, I like EDM but have some self awareness about it.

I have to hand it to 343 for turning this around. The game was a mess when it launched which was sad since it had Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 1-4 at the time. They really made everything about the collection better from visuals, load times, menus, and adding Reach to the the mix bringing it up to 6 Halo games in one

I know that people rag on Xbox for being the shootin’ and racin’ platform due to their exclusives, but it’s been great to watch Microsoft really branch and support exciting initiatives like this demo event, Game Pass, and backwards compatibility. It’s certainly made the choice between PS5 and XSX much more difficult

If they confirm that, check the obits, because I will have deceased from joy overload.

Totally agree. Everything about the demo was pressing the nostalgia button in my brain. I loved it. Plus local co-op hell yeah. Now all they need to do is say that multiplayer isn’t class based and goes back to the days of having to pick up weapons on the map.

I disagree, I’ve never quite been able to find anything that scratches that Halo itch. It’s a really unique style of gameplay, not quite a classic arena shooter but not especially “modern” either. The combat almost feels like a puzzle, with less focus on twitch shooting and more emphasis on playing around with all

They’ve also talked a lot about 4K 60FPS and what we just saw was an open world FPS running at 4K 60FPS while simultaneously looking like an Xbox One X game. That’s a pretty remarkable achievement when you really break it down, and is also almost exactly in line with what you would expect given the hardware. The

How can you say that considering this looks most like the old Bungie halos?

its current gen. Its coming out for xbox one. The xbox series x improvements will come by way of ray tracing, which they announced is a free upgrade after launch.

Yea - it’s easy to pick apart the graphics when your point of comparison is a 3rd person game with a locked 30FPS framerate running at 1440p at its highest resolution. This needs to be compared to something like Doom Eternal.

If i can plant a tree, and it grows as I age, then that’s all I ask.

A lot of people seem to feel like graphics are the only thing that makes a game, as if every new title has to not only look great but look better than anything that came before it. But I would say this game looks good enough. It doesn’t seem like the kind of game that will have players stopping every few minutes to

I’m with you. I think people are so used to seeing these uber-polished cinematic trailers that seeing real footage feels like a letdown. But honestly, this just makes me so excited. It seems like they’re trying to return the series to its roots (but without sacrificing the gameplay mechanics that have improved

Based on these comments...

Am I the only person who think this game looks freakin’ beautiful???

I’m looking forward to this. At first when I got the game, I didn’t like it (too complicated at the start with the bit system, plus that damn subtitle font). Once I got off the Groundbreaker and started exploring and questing, the game got really good.

It still has nearly 5 months until it’s launch, of course it’s not going to be polished yet. You and all the 12 year olds in twitch chat don’t seem to realize that.

“Filed to THE OUTER WILDS”

If they can do something genuinely innovative & exciting with the open world design, then I’m okay with the “2001, but elevated” vibe of the gunplay- because for many, Halo is sort of a genre unto itself within the shooter landscape. The grappling hook is a nice nod to the Supersuit aspect of Master Chief without
