While I'm thoroughly enjoying the fact that these people are being screwed over by the clearly unstable and downright dangerous person they were helping to run for president, they have a clear legal and moral right to be paid for the work they performed. And she should pay them. In fact, her favorite book of fairy

Conservatives only care about zygotes and fetuses. Once the fetus is born, they couldn't care less about it. That, and long period of maternity leave (perish the idea of paternity leave!) is socialism.

this is my biggest complaint with all GPS systems— if there's a path that's 3 feet shorter, it'll take you on that one, which may not be the most obvious or efficient route. I don't want to wind through tiny neighborhood streets, alleys, parking lots and pedestrian-thick areas, I want to get on the

Maybe they'd be nicer if they had some decent meals? Hunger makes for such grumpy people!

Even if the state law is on the books, it can't be applied because of the Supreme Court ruling. However, since this is Alabama, the goal is to keep everyone as ignorant as possible, so they just say whatever they want, regardless of the facts.

Not after Lawrence v. Texas (2003).

like third-world, former British colonies and African countries that have been plagued by "Christian" missionaries.

I agree 100%. The people working at the DMV are people, not machines, and if you're nice to them (and are reasonably competent and organized), they will return the favor. What's the difference between a good photo and a lousy one? The humor of the DMV agent (I once had a GREAT photo because the guy was cool.). Etc etc

Who one earth still uses checks for walmart/the supermarket/anything other than utilities and paying friends back???

You're kidding, right? Between the people who can't figure out the giant pictures and sing-songy instructions (and keep doing different, unhelpful things too fast thereby confusing the stupid machine), and the fact that the damn things are designed to slow you down as much as possible (to further tempt you with check

this sounds so. amazingly. good. I may have to give it a go.... One question though: do you cook the matzo balls in the soup then pull them out? (i'd assume so...)

I get that you really believe in gun rights, and I'm not not trying to be a jerk (really!), but saying that the 2nd Amendment allows us to protect our other rights is just absurd. Firstly, the text of the amendment doesn't talk about individuals being armed. It talks about states being able to organize "militias."

Owning a gun is not a "harmless behavior" like smoking weed. If you smoke a bunch of weed and are baked every day, it's not (directly) my problem. Have fun. If you own a gun and it's used in a crime against my person, it is not harmless and it is now my problem.

"But an armed populace—44 million armed Americans—would certainly make the government think twice before suspending our liberties or sending storm troopers to our doors."

And what would be terrible about confiscation? However, I assume that after their mass shootings in the 90s, there was a phase-out period for the newly banned weapons in the UK and Australia. (Maybe a follow commenter can enlighten us as to the procedure used.)

whose history? in what modern liberal democracy has this happened? (And don't say "Hitler and the Jews!" First, Nazi Germany was not a liberal democracy like today's US, UK, Australia etc). Second, the Nazis also confiscated radios, telephones, and bicycles from the Jews after the Nuremberg Laws were passed while

Very simple: if you have an unregistered gun after the registration period (and a grace period) then you are committing a criminal offense. Unless you do certain things to comply with the law (background check, declaring the gun, surrendering the gun, etc), you will go to jail (and/or be fined big time) and get the
