Some of their stuff is clever (if not the absurd vase that could be made at home with about $30 of junk from Goodwill and some hot glue), but I don't shop there as it and Urban Outfitters are owned by a vile, rabidly homophobic man who was a major supporter of Rick Santorum in this last election circus. I'll be damned

Now I know what to do with the years of my elementary school projects that my mother (religiously) saved then stuck me with when she died— put them up as Anthropologie couture! Tile menorah plate with a menorah pattern? Turkey with colored clothespins glued to oaktag? Yes pls! lol *smh*

Yes, same here at first.

I whole-heartedly agree that these issues are in need of activism, though an argument could be (as it has been in other comments) that some of these parallel the more visible women-oriented discussions (Nos. 3 and 4 for example), while others are a particular subset of more visible issues ( No. 1, for example).

It says on the side, in Yiddish, "Workers of all countries, unite!" Awesome :)

Don't forget that Seoul is only about 35 miles from the North Korean border— the North Koreans could easily flatten it with even WWII-era weapons, and we know they have more advanced conventional weapons than that. The North Koreans might be inept at nuclear bomb and ICBM building, but they're armed to the teeth with

Fair enough. The author seems to be scolding the parents of non-disabled children who have let them turn into little beasts. The kids don't know better on their own, that's why it's the parents' job to teach them. I see kids getting away with all sorts of things that I'd have gotten a major assbeating for ALL THE TIME

Aveeno is good stuff— I used their foam for a while before switching to the Neutrogena (Mr. RunnerGuy turned me onto it), and I'd use it again in a pinch.

Costco does that with some of their bath products too, like the bar soap and shower gel. Saves money on the packaging, avoids stupidity like this advertising campaign. Brilliant.

I concur. I wash my male neither-regions with Dove unscented bar soap and use the men's Neutrogena shave gel as I get a much closer, gentler shave than with the foam kind (even Nivea) and it's less drying. I'm not bothered by what anyone else thinks.

Pretty much. I have a gmail account for my android phone but use Yahoo email for email, and I prefer Yahoo. I just find gmail hard to use.

I'd love to convert him to the tribe of straight guys who occasionally get busy with other dudes... *drool*

Ditto. It would be cool to experience it first hand as others do.

morning wood is delicious. full stop.

It is sad, all the way around. I met a Hungarian guy there who was telling me that his mom needed a (heart?) surgery and he had to pay 'extra' to make sure she was ok. He was pissed about this because he thought it was the responsibility of the state to pay their doctors better, especially considering the amount of

They get grace before meals but not after. Strange...

I lived in Hungary for a spell in college and had to see a urologist while there. I went to a private clinic in Budapest where the very kind and able doctor examined me very thoroughly (with no machines!) and told me exactly what was wrong (nothing super serious, just uncomfortable, though surgery is the cure). He

Agreed. I'm the only one who actually knows large portions of "Who knows one?" by heart (and can manage the forgotten numbers/attributes in slightly-out-of-tune phonetic Hebrew), and who wants to sing alone? But the non-Jews don't get benching for some reason, no matter how much you explain it.... (goyisher kop,

I've been a guest to my best friend's family's seders before, and usually the non-Jewish guests are the best behaved— if only because the whole thing is unfamiliar and they don't want to inadvertantly be rude. But some of her relatives behave very poorly— they don't want to do the seder properly (not even the Maxwell

Maybe you could volunteer at a soup kitchen or some other charitable event? It would be something to do (at least) and would help you feel less lonely. (I forget that I'm not attached to Christmas, as I'm not Christian...)
