Why do Giz authors fly around so much? Seems like it is unnecessary in these days of distributed, guerilla journalism. People should already be where they need to be.

@qingdom: don't we drag and drop them onto the idevice via itunes already?

@dcdttu: excellent point

@tasteskindasalty: here's food for thought. I worked at a 7-11. Cost for a big gulp was $.11. BIG profit there.

Looks like bottled Coke is also making an appearance at Mickey D's.

@MisterHister: I agree ... witness firewire and USB, both were on Macs before widespread adoption was there. Same for N wifi networks.

Little known fact - LTE will be for data. CDMA will exist in EVERY PHONE for Verizon since that network will be used for voice. How long before LTE is used for both voice and data? Beats me, but it will be a few years. Therefore, a CDMA iphone will happen, the only question is whether it will have an LTE radio and

had the lady kept the door open, he was going fast enough to fly right into the windo

@avatar003: I had a mouse pad made of this junk, it was a corporate giveaway piece with an MCI logo - smelled like death for weeks.

@corey.schooler: amazing how many posters did not pick up this. Excellent work!

I can't be too hard on apple here. Like Roku, the box works. It is fast, easy to use and does what it says. My first gen Roku box just died so I bought one of these instead, since it plugs into my Mac eco-system easier.

@thechansen: I agree with CPD, no hi def output without HDMI. Check it out. I have a TiVo and can copy shows to my Mac. I can watch them in 1080i on the mac. I can convert them to MP4 files ... but only at 640x480 - why? Because I have loose morals and would sell pirated HD copies of TV shows if they let me make

Whoa! Tivo wants to charge me "only" $89 for a wireless N adapter.

@Maave: I agree. Enough of these announcements, how about launching something! @Oshrilkal:

Haven't they figured out that you generate little excitement when you announce that a product is "coming next year" at a price that is "to be determined"? When Apple makes an announcement they say, "It ships in July and costs $399." People get more excited when they know the price and the delivery time because they

@Standish: LTE is technically an evolution of GSM however all major carriers have announced support for LTE. New radios and transmitting gear are needed for the higher bandwidth and throughput. Interestingly enough, the new LTE gear is much smaller and more power efficient.

As it turns out, Verizon actually offers "coverage" in more countries even though their phones are CDMA. Their global phones have GSM radios so their work in most countries but you need a carrier-to-carrier relationship to make it seamless. For the last 2 years, Verizon claimed 220 countries while AT&T was at

I'm just glad someone reads what I write. Seems like if I said these things, people would say, "waaa?"

Why would we not start first with "free" water? As much as I love my broadband, I would really appreciate free water. Everyone needs it live, it is refreshing to drink and flushes my turds out of my house. Once everyone has free water, we can move on to free electricity. From there, free heating fuels. Then, we'd
