I think the “racist jokes” are probably more of a “white men” thing than an “everybody’s husband” thing. Unless you think “all of us” is just white people.

I watched his standup special on Netflix and he seems to enjoy “pushing buttons” which is a bullshit term use by some comedians to explain why no one laughed. They’re never not funny, it’s that they’re too edgy and you’re too PC.

“Signed someone whose “woke” white friend’s husband jokingly called me a prairie n****r.”

“their faults” being his racism in this case right? Your statement essentially reads its great that they can get past the little stuff like racism. How very white of you Poodletime!

I’m not going to hold her accountable and she is not an abused woman cowering and covering her husband’s faults. However she is married to that man and has to have heard at least some racist jokes, language. So you’ll understand why some of us have misgivings about her and her response comes across as self righteous.

I hold mine like he’s a baby. Like all the time.

The alleged victim never sought the university’s involvement and did not initially file a Title IX complaint since the alleged rape took place off campus. The police report, however, was given to the university by a Utah County Sheriff and friend of Seidu.

No, I think a self righteous trash article, followed by a self righteous defense (“Anyone who knows me and my feminism knows that’s absurd and not at all what this piece was about. It’s so sad how vicious people are being when I basically live to make things better for women”) entitles someone to a pile on. Like,

Yeah. She loses all scientific credibility because of that as far as I am concerned.

It was horrible; I couldn’t believe what I was reading. She’s basically like “I’m too homey to be sexually assaulted, so if you do get assaulted, perhaps you should try to look less pretty, that works for me”. WTF?????????????? Wrong all around.

She not on any side of feminism; she’s opposite feminism. She hates women whatever platitudes she tries to offer them.

As if Mayim Bailik wasn’t dangerous enough for being an anti-vaxxer. Now she comes out with this. She really needs to go the fuck away.

I remember reading a piece of hers - I think it might have been on her blog - about how she struggled with the costume choice for the Superbowl ad segment that Big Bang Theory cast had to wear - footballers’ gear, which showed her legs. I don’t care about people’s fashion choices generally, but when they are

I know that this will be a duplicate of every other reply in this thread, but... just... FUCK YOU MAUREEN DOWD.

It seems like if the NYT runs a column on X they feel compelled to then run an OpEd on Not-X. Not everything deserves to have the other side discussed. Not every issue needs to be ‘balanced’. There’s no balance here, gross men are gross. The end.

Exactly. We don’t need to make up reasons to be annoyed by Gwyneth and her Goopiness.

I have this feeling that Hillary embarrassed Maureen in a social setting once and the grudge will never die. There is little that starts a seething anger in a vapid intellectual poseur like being shut down by an actual intellectual.

> And I adore Martha Plimpton. As an actress and person.

I kind of love this a lot. The Goop annoys me to no end, but it seems like she was actually vocal about HW’s skeeziness and the Op-Ed was unwarranted. If you withdraw from a movie, you only ruin your own career. And frankly Goop was born to play Emma. Anyway, getting a letter from her mother must make Dowd feel

The NY Times Op Ed staff in general is the worst. Dowd is certainly among the worst of the worst, but Brooks, Friedman and Douthat give her tough competition.
