And it’s not about the martial arts. There are tons of martial arts masters in comics(Most of them rich white men). Iron Fist is about Asian Culture and imagery. More so than just about any other superhero book. It’d be like if Black Panther was a blonde haired, blue eyed guy named Danny. Considering that book is

It’s based in 70s martial arts movie popularity. Those movies weren’t about white characters. They were about Chinese or Japanese men and women being heroic and using their unique(at the time) culture to fight injustice. Iron Fists exists because of actors like Bruce Lee and Sunny Chiba. But when Marvel decided to

People hate on Damien Wayne. But I’ve long been of the mind that Batman’s supporting cast should be as emotionally damaged as he is. That’s why I prefer Jason Todd and Cassandra Cain to Tim Drake and Barbara Gordon.(Dick Grayson is the exception because he’s just a cool dude...) Damien’s journey as Robin has been

I’m gonna be straight up with you...It really bothers me that Iron Fist isn’t an asian person...

Yeah I agree. New Avengers was pretty much Luke Cage’s book for a few years.

Is that before or after he went to get his money from Doctor Doom?

As a black kid first getting into comics in the 90s, I had a pretty shitty opinion of Luke Cage. I found him embarrassing as one white writer after another just used him as the avatar of whatever they thought black culture was supposed to be. His dialog was laughable. His look was just gross. And while other heroes

No bullets can harm Doom....

That’s fine

You clearly haven’t seen enough of that show. Watch it again. He’s at least 75% of the things I named. A campy version of those things but it’s all there. And more importantly he’s comics accurate to the silver age version of the character. It’s also fine that movie your favorite though.

Or any kind of detective...

You can’t disagree that these movies don’t have the things I like about Batman. It’s completely subjective. I get why people like them. They’re well made movies. They just don’t hit ANY of the check boxes I need for a Batman movie.

It’s not time. It’s disinterest. Nolan wasn’t interested in those aspects of Batman.

That needed no justification.

I agree. They good have put him in a green suit and called him The Riddler and nothing would really have changed.

I Hate the killing. But Keaton’s Bruce Wayne and Nicholson’s Joker, plus the art direction, the music, and the fact that I was 8 when I saw it trump all of that. It gives me way more of what I need from a Batman story than any of the Nolan movies did. And without that movie there would be no Batman: The Animated

I don’t agree with your thoughts on the editing, camera work, or aesthetics. But i will say that to me The Nolan films are my least favorite because they have none of the things that I like about Batman.

He’s not a genius. He’s not an incredible fighter. He’s not obsessed. He’s not a brilliant detective. He’s not a

I realize this might not drum up the clicks that a site like this is looking for. But I really wish more people would use “My Favorite” in place of “Best”

Batman ‘89, Dark Knight Returns (animated), and Under the Red Hood got bumped in favor of Batman Returns huh?... I’ll see you guys later.

So glad Miles survives and is still written by Bendis. He seems to get black characters in a way that I really appreciate. His Luke Cage completely turned me around on that character.
