I’m not sure that paint job was intentional.

Then thing has almost no torsional rigidity even as a sedan. I’m pretty sure they recalled them when new because drivers were complaining the headlights were wandering left and right when driven at night. Ford added braces under the hood and possibly somewhere else. The largest unibody ever built to that time I…
These used to creep me out when I was a kid. I have no idea why. Symbolism I guess. I haven’t seen one in ages. They were ghostly quiet as they passed as I recall.
You mention she was not receptive. What were you offering her? Are we still talking about the car?
Is the word “not” missing from this sentence?
I’m not sure but I think this may be the “shorter” version of the longest car ever built. I test drove one, a 4 door hardtop I think it was, and it is immense, heavy ungainly and unpleasant. It was beautiful I a delusional aspirational 50’s kind of way, but it’s unlikely anything anyone who has modified the beast has…
I remember that! He took 1st AND 2nd! All while be shot at!
She’s not hot enough to be forgiven.
I went to the Bondurant performance school years ago. I’d have to say the important thing I learned is that I, and most people it turned out, don’t drive as well as I thought I did. We’re not actors in powersliding German uber car commercials. That’s a sad way to die.
Uggghhhh...I think I'm going to skip taking my cycle out tomorrow. I feel inadequate all of a sudden.... That was pretty magnificent riding.
Very competitive guys in a competitive business. It's not a big deal. Lots of ego involved. Winners don't like losing. This is hardly the making of a soap opera. Now when they start ramming each other on the track, THAT will be interesting!
By produced...I mean created. I know it’s not production. Jalopnik commenters are sticklers for details at times.
Yeah but it looks like something you’d see in a 70’s movie to me. It would be right at home in the future scene from Woody Allen’s “Bananas.” I’m not trying to convince you. Obviously a lot of people must have liked it or it wouldn’t have been produced. It’s impossible to get 100% acceptance in design. People disliked…
Boy, everyone just assumes you give a few million dollars each to a bunch of congress people means there's funny business or favoritism going on. So cynical!
It just looks so 70’s “The Future is Here” look! I love(d) the Seventies but I do have to laugh at some of the stuff we all used to have. White spherical speakers, Shag rugs, lots of white plastic. I bet at the time this was a knockout sensation. We all have our tastes. I’m just getting old I guess.
Geee..l.. he must have been pro slavery! Thanks for straightening me out!
You really believe that? You think that's what a Conservative is?
I agree but the mitigation is the R107 has just recently gotten out of the "just a nice used car" phase and will be in a collectible phase eventually. As far as looks....that's subjective of course. I personally love the Pagoda more than these, but I'd certainly be happy to own a 190SL. No complaints.
Buick really has to overcome the public’s reflexive derision at the mention of their name. They’re actually wonderful cars.
