they function for grieving fans to take the onus and blame off a male hero and lay it all on his woman counterpart, playing nicely into the sexist archetype of the scheming, evil woman out here trying to trap precious young man-geniuses into giving up their careers (or, more archetypically, castrating them).

No, I don’t think that logic holds. Because here’s the thing — Caitlyn Jenner is not out here running around claiming to have had “the female experience” her entire life. She hasn’t made a career out of representing women. She hasn’t made up false shit to support her status as a woman.

Never. At what point can we sit back and stop bending over backwards to make excuses for White folks?

That’s why I occasionally drive by and throw trash in the yard of the guy who works the night-shift at my corner gas station. “Fuck you, Roger! Why my gas and smokes still so spendy?”

Yah bc the employees stuck doing the cleanup are totally the ones setting the ticket prices, well done, you

That is true, but labeling every person who does something crazy mentally ill stigmatizes mental illness in a way. Some people never do anything overtly crazy yet they could have a mental illness.

Just a little addendum if you don’t mind.

PSA: Not every person who commit acts that deviate from the norm are mentally ill.

Sharks don’t swim in the kitchen/Beans don’t burn on the grill

That sucks. A random cat or dog could have attacked his service dog anywhere. Animals do things like that sometimes.

This is why we now have 3 cats. The last 2 came as a pair. My wife’s intention was to bring home one of them, but they are siblings, and the one she was not going to take started yelling at her, so... But I’m not mad, because:

...or, you know, they could offer both...

Ha! “Madame of the Cathouse” I am dying she is awesome! I find kittens a little overrated (I like to adopt the older pound cats with less energy but tons of personality) but this is heart meltingly cute.

No it is not. The DSM is very specific about criteria that needs to be met. It takes far more than being socially unacceptable to have a mental illness. Otherwise every asshole, jerk, and bully would be mentally ill.

Yes, for the love of god. “Behavior I don’t understand” (and for that matter, violent behavior) is not the same as mental illness and actively diminishes the experience of people struggling with mental illnesses.

People have such a tendency to jump to the “mental health issue” when someones actions seem irrational. They don’t want to believe that a mentally healthy person would put her children through that, or take on the identity of another race for reasons which are not entirely clear at this point.
I am reserving judgment

One can be an attention grabber (which is what I see this as, at least superficially) and not be mentally ill. Tons of people are ‘look at me, look at me!’ and no one says ‘oh, here’s some wellbutrin’.

Seriously, behaving in a socially unacceptable manner does not equate mental illness.

Whatever you do, for christ’s sake, stop making this about mental illness with no proof whatsoever. You know you’re working to diminish her responsibility if you do that, you know it. As far as we know, she is an extraordinarily committed liar, and a very harmful one who subjected her own kids to faked hate crimes.

You’re really bad at this “argument” stuff, you should look up “logical fallacies”. Or keep looking like a fucking idiot. Your choice.
