Well if you found like minded people why did you start your comment with “Am I the only one who...”? Clearly you know you’re not. Not trying to single you out, I just see that all the time on this site in the comments section; “Am I the only one who holds this opinion that gets expressed over and over on this site?”

Anytime some asks “Is it just me...” or “Am I the only one who...” I can be fairly certain they are about to express a popular opinion.

White middle aged liberal here. I tack further left with each passing year. Becoming conservative isn’t inevitable no matter what that tired old trope would lead us to believe.

“Officials are looking for the cat to have it tested.” There’s but one way to test a cat for rabies. It involves decapitating the cat and removing its brain. I’m not saying it’s not warranted in this instance, but “having it tested” sounds a little benign.

I used to work with a woman who said people with tattoos like this look like Doodle Bears™. I think that’s a perfect description.

No, Ed Sheeran. I have seen Star Wars multiple times and find it just OK. If I never saw it again my life would not be diminished. There aren’t many of us who feel this way, but we do exist.

Some people like making every situation an opportunity to talk about themselves (especially if it involves their “trauma”)?

Actually electro convulsive therapy is still used, it’s not barbaric (the patient is anesthetized), and can do wonderful things for depressed patients for whom no other treatment has been effective.

It’s a common thing in the comments section here to label every person who does something “off” as mentally ill and it drives me bananas!

I think it all depends on where you live, too. It’s less of a big deal in an urban area than in a small town.

And if his work is so dang tacky why did she want him to ink her in the first place? Go to an artist you actually like!

Nope. Not as much, but to a certain extent they are. I see this being pretty much a non issue in 10-20 years though. I was told 20 years ago when I got my arm tattooed I’d have a hard time finding a job. I have been unemployed for about four weeks total since then. Glad you’re doing well with your tattoos.

Mine are on my forearm and I’m so sick of having a highly visible mystery tattoo.

I have flies (or what used to be flies and are now indistinguishable blobs of ink) because I was such a dark, outside the mainstream, rebel who never wanted to be stuck in the straight world or whatever dumb thing it was I was thinking. They are about to become pansies which were my beloved grandmother’s favorite

Mine just had too much fine detail which has been lost. I’m feeling good about the cover up. :)

If I had gotten all the stuff 15 year old me had wanted it would not be a pretty sight. As it is 45 year old me is going in in a couple for a cover up of a tattoo that 25 year old me thought was a good idea.

I have a friend who is a stylist and has hand tattoos and is just fine. But that’s a creative field and there’s more acceptance. Another friend is a bartender and is covered and it’s just fine (pretty much anything goes for a bartender in a hipster bar though). I’m glad you’ve done well with your hand tattoos. I do

I have a few friends who are tattoo artists and they generally won’t do hand or neck tattoos. Those tattoos are nicknamed “job killers”. I have a friend who has been getting laser treatments for a hand tattoo she got at 18. Very expensive and not 100% successful.

I was the only goth kid in a small town in the 80’s. Everyone else was “preppy”. My high school didn’t print my senior picture. Those were the worst 4 years of my life anyway so I in no way felt robbed.
