Hahahahaha, noooooooo I’m definitely the idiot. Or, at least, I’m being completely truthful when I say I completely forgot she ever existed. Wow. OK. OK. Wow.

Frozen is a great choice too! I think there’s a stigma against frozen veg as well.

It must be feel strange for Roy Moore to have people his own age telling him to pull out.

My neighbors decided 3:1 to vote me out of my Constitutional, civil, and fundamental rights because I’m gay.

Yeah. It’s kind of like two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch. But at least your politicians got a clear message now that the majority of Australians want equality for everyone. There are going to be some of them stomping their feet and trying to throw a wrench into progress (as happened here in

Do yourself a favor and go listen to the episode of Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me with Henry Winkler. Apparently this whole story line was a result of his mother nagging him by letter to tell the showrunners that he has other skills they can use - like water skiing. He ignores her forever because how the holy eff are you

Now playing

lol. Actually, it’s Linda that’s in HR.

yeah referendums/surveys about whether or not to allow same-sex couples to marry are horrifying. It’s basically straight people being asked “so should gay people have the same rights as you?” Gay marriage is about equality, not about whether or not straight peope find us equal and not disgusting

This was a great outcome to a terrible exercise.

The worst part is that the (more) conservative faction of the Liberal* Party knew that would happen. That was what they wanted. They love the idea of hateful, homophobic (not to mention transphobic, biphobic, etc) rhetoric being paraded as valid debate. Legitimising hate speech as free speech. They only win by firing

I’m still mortified at our spineless political class, although I will admit the right wing dickheads who drove us down this path certainly have some balls to now be demanding they help shape the legislation to protect fellow bigots. Once this is done and dusted we still have members of both major parties who kicked

You, me, and everyone I know who has ever visited Australia and the US.

The last ‘standard’ Australian federal election? Or the double dissolution election of 2016? The latter apparently had a turn out of 91% and Wikipedia says 2013 was 93.23%.

And people are fined if they don’t vote in Australia, right? That really sums up the quality of the politicians!

I was actually surprised not to see any coverage of this at all over the last couple of months on Jezebel. How this survey even ended up happening is a political fiasco, and the fact that the results are non-binding means there may still be some fuckery to deal with before it becomes law. It’s been an exercise in why

While I appreciate the efforts, both of those articles were written by folks with a vested interest in proving the unlikely and both articles rely on some pretty tenuous suppositions. Nothing in there a serious historian could hang their hat on.

I stand corrected. And if he thinks he’s got a comeback coming, he’s crazy.

If there’s one good thing to come out of this, it’s that Louis C.K. can no longer get away with assaulting women (woof, talk about a sentence I never thought I’d see myself typing. That’s 2017 for ya). It’s just a good thing that these assholes can no longer bribe their way out of justice or use their fame to get away

Well, I was one of ‘those’ people. I thought that the woman who made the initial allegations, when all of this first broke, stated that the person who did it was not Louis CK. So, I gave him the benefit of a doubt and stated so publicly here on Jezzie. My mistake and I’m sorry I defended him.

This only means he knew exactly what he was doing, exactly how likely he was to get away with doing it, and he actively masqueraded as a decent person to bamboozle the public/future victims. Fuck this piece of shit to hell.
