Tim Kaine would also be a strong Latino/a vote getter, as he’s married to a Latina and is fluent in Spanish. He’s not on the list because they want the “white male” vote.

They’re complaining about being portrayed as murderers after they murdered their child because they refuse to believe in science? My heart bleeds.

This is not true. A Terry Stop requires reasonable suspicion, and the officer in this case lacked that. Without reasonable suspicion, the officer has zero right to detain you.

Leaving a house with known drug activity isn’t against the law. Guilt by association is unconstitutional.

Sotomayor is, as always, wonderful, and one of the best writers on the Court. And Breyer yet again joins the conservatives on search and seizure issues, since he is more statist than the other three liberal members of the court (reflexively siding with the government isn’t a good thing for all issues).

And as the Nate Parker/Jean Celestin rape case has shown, a slap on the wrist punishment for rape doesn’t necessarily stop someone from having a successful career. So it’s not like someone’s future will suffer much even with a rape conviction.

I was having a debate in step with this the other night. My main point is that it’s troubling that Sanders is continuing a campaign supposedly to exercise the will of the people, but the people have spoken and they didn’t pick him.
