It happens all. the. time. with my brother and me. We live in the same town and hang out a ton. It is the weirdest and I hate it.

Yeeeeah the data access drama was where Bernie lost me. Acting like the DNC was the one in the wrong when his staffers accessed data they knew they shouldn’t have, granted others access, and saved voter lists...that was really awful. It was basically Watergate in computer form, but if building security had

Can we all step back here and realize for a moment that even though case law deems post-assault conduct of the victims irrelevant, the judge called the alleged victims not credible because their experiences with him post-assault were not disclosed earlier and “w[ere] very clearly relevant and material information in

I am a dude. I am a hunky dude. I am a badass hunky dude!

It’s that or avoiding the filibusters by electing a republican. I’ll take the filibusters.

Except she’s not offering to babysit the kids for both parents, she is literally giving Kesha the fuel she needs to sue. She is not giving money to both sides.

How is helping to fund someone’s legal case neutral? Sorry, but that seems like the epitome of taking sides to me.

Dude needs to figure out how to control his campaign staff.

Legal fees are insanely expensive. Putting up a good fight in her legal case will run Kesha millions of dollars.

They are the absolute best. The. Best.

As I’ve said elsewhere, I have no problem with her being called out when her feminism isn’t intersectional enough by looking at how she’s used it and whatever patterns emerge, or by criticizing her when she participates in feminism in ways that don’t recognize her privilege. But picking this particular instance of her

I’m not on a tangent, I was giving you a chance to make an argument that makes sense because you haven’t so far.

Again, I read and processed all of it. It’s just not a persuasive argument. Sorry!

Your explanation has been that Taylor has a responsibility because she’s discussed feminism, benefited from feminism, is young, blond, and a pop star. You haven’t explained why those things give her a responsibility here beyond those that other men and women have.

You haven’t provided any evidence that Taylor has inserted herself into the Kesha situation. That’s what I don’t get - I keep making the same points because you keep making the same points and none of it provides a factual basis for saying Taylor has inserted herself into this such that she has a responsibility to

I can read and understand just fine. Hillary is trying to be president. She is selling herself on being a leader. Unless I’m missing something, Taylor hasn’t asked to be anointed the feminist leader of all pop stars, so you’ve presented a false equivalency.

The fact that Taylor is the same age and blond somehow gives her a greater responsibility here? Oooookay.

I don’t grasp it because it doesn’t make any sense. Every white woman pop performer who’s ever called herself a feminist hasn’t by virtue of that taken on an obligation to speak out every time another white woman pop performer has a gender-related issue arise, and they sure as hell don’t have any more of an obligation

Which is why I said earlier in this conversation that I have no problem with calling her out on her record of activism to the extent it suffers from her not recognizing her privilege. But taking her to task for not piping up about one particular issues without knowing why or whether there are reasons she isn’t
