A programmable thermostat is a PITA. Particularly for the tech challenged.

I’ve always seen “smart” thermostats as an easier-to-use version of a programmable thermostat — sort of the way that TiVo and DVRs didn’t do things all that new beyond what VCRs did when they were released, they were just way easier to set.

And the thing about fan service is, it does the opposite in the long run. It’s just catering to existing fans, but not creating new ones. What bothered me about Lowery in Jurassic World is that in-universe his love of the original makes no sense. It was a theme park that fell apart on the first test run that resulted in the deaths of several people. There is nothing “legit” about it. 

It’s a step up from the “fluffer system”.

Not everything is caused by the patriarchy, but the fact that you get so few women applicants definitely is.

First of all, once the the founder decided to discuss the Blizzard scandal in a public interview, he 100% opens the door for considering his words and his staffing decisions as a leader.

Whether a small development studio is all male or all female or what-have-you does not matter.

The last live show I saw before everything shut down was Patton Oswalt. Mary Jo opened for him and she was a delight.

This happens every time some GOP dipshit gets in front of the pulpit to scream “no more pork!” when budgets are brought up. Of course they don’t mean it for everyone. They want less pork for others so they can get more. So I guess to be accurate they’re screaming “no, more pork!”

I really love the Mary Jo-and-Bridget Rifftrax projects. They recently got their own logo, drawn in the style of Betty and Veronica from Archie comics. I could (and have) watched their Tupperware short over and over again.

What’s missing: the irony of an all-black flag for an all-white America.

I think I’ve heard 12 year old white middle schoolers have this rhetoric, but they usually grow up.
