That assumption is a fairly safe assumption to make, as it’s impossible for a car to have more torque than horsepower if it makes its peak torque above 5252rpm, and it’s impossible to make more horsepower than torque if the engine can’t rev above 5252rpm. Both thanks to the horsepower equation.

Ok fair enough but that’s only due to a stupid law written by people completely ignorant of the subject. HP/L still doesn’t say anything at all, good or bad, about two engines being compared other than one will force you to give more money to the gov.

A bit of a forgotten child of the SBC stable, the Gen II LT1 was the last engine introduced prior to the venerable LSx that we all know and love, but was extremely reliable and had some innovate features with the reverse flow head cooling system. In today’s blinding horsepower figure era, the LT1 hp figure seems a

HP/L is a meaningless measurement.

You’re right on about that. My ‘94 made 296hp/334tq on a dynojet with only exhaust work and a cold air intake, untuned. Headers really wake these cars up.

And that is why it wins. No replacement for displacement.

Having driven both, I actually preferred the iron block LT1. For both its sound and batshit engineering that went on under the hood.

Jeep that needs 368hp turbo-four:

WHOA, how did I miss that the first time.

They’re good dogs, Torch

Sorta represents the motor industry as a whole doesn’t it.

So the previous record was set on intermediates?

Tell that to the suckers paying a 10k mark up on top of the just released Type R minivan.

That would mean it revs to 15-20k rpm, depending on the torque curve. Soooo doubtful.
(Sorry if you were joking, always hard to tell on here...)

Lol wut? You’re really saying NYC taxi drivers know the job, roads and etiquette? Just the other day, I was in a taxi and the driver squeezed by a double parked car and scraped the side with his mirror. He just sped off.

“taking the job of someone who works really hard in the same industry and knows the job, roads, and etiquette like the back of his/her hand.”

I guess it’s just unreasonable to expect that someone should be able to earn enough at an occupation to survive.

That’s so awesome, made cooler by the fact it’s a rad old car
