besides the hideous styling!”

I like the styling of the new supra, tbh. Its very deliberate, doesn’t look derivative of anything, yet still looks like a proper sports cars. The new Z4 though? I can’t even picture it from memory without googling it to remind myself what it looks like. Its pretty generic. Like, remove the badging and the BMW

Do you have eyes? This is one of the most gorgeous sports cars ever to roll out of a factory.

Wrong, its one of the best looking sports cars out there right now.

I hear you... similar situation here. I’m looking for that Goldilocks fun car. I’ve owned a wide spectrum of vehicles, from 90HP to 650hp, but generally consider the most fun on the street the lower powered cars (but not too low).

Mostly agree with this take. Modern fast cars are generally too fast to be fun. Take each of those listed and subtract 50% of the power, add manual trans if not already, and you get a lot more fun on the street. And I own one of those listed with plenty of HP and a manual.

Ok, so here’s what we’re gonna do. I’m gonna ask you why you give a damn and how this affects you, and you’re going to sit there and either smash your keys angrily about some non-sense that doesn’t actually matter or stop responding because you grew up and moved on from this contrarian hill you are choosing to die on

So sick of the “save the manuals” crowd. I’m old, learned on a manual, had a fair share of manual cars over 30+ yrs. modern autos are SOOOO much better. the only cars I would drive with manuals are modern miatas or some grocery getter 4 cylander. A supra? come on.

Funny how you found a way to bitch and moan about something when you already got what you wanted. Are you just here to argue about something or is there some complex purpose to your behavior?

They’ll be like that, but the honest truth is the B58 is as good or better.

Well don’t worry, it already comes with an automatic so you are covered!

“I hate fun and screw everyone who isn’t me.”

Then buy an RCF. A slow overweight sports car by Toyota. That also has plastic parts. Like every other car company out there.

The only thing more grating than the “save the manuals” crowd is the “I grew up with manuals and I don’t prefer ‘em, so no one should” crowd

I guess I’m not seeing how your story is interesting or even a “coincidence” given your personal Red badge is not really original. First Type R Hondas had red badges to denote “quicker than normal” and also “manual transmission” given they were only available as such.

Weird flex given your red S doesn't mean anything to anyone except you.

i cannot understand why manufacturers keep using the auto is faster as an excuse. especially for sports cars. some people like driving, not going fast. and the manual is way better for driving. i had a shitbox 90s tercel with a 4sp manual and it couldnt go over 55 and drank a quart of oil a day. still loved it. i

This bus driver agrees with Toyota’s choice.

I hope this helps the car’s image. These have really grown on me as I’ve seen more of them in the wild, and the few I’ve seen at track days have been properly quick.
