I find that in many cases, regardless of the amount you save with a DIY project, you end up better off in the long run. No, it may not be 100% perfect. Yes, you may have to do things a couple of times to get it right. Sure, a Pro might be faster with completion. Those are trade offs for learning how to do it yourself
