I highly doubt that. That site has nothing but clickbait that can’t be verified anywhere except other clickbait sites. The engine pictured is a normal 5.0L Coyote with two turbos plumbed to it. Ecoboost is more than just two turbos. It is Direct Injection plus turbocharging. That engine in the picture is NOT direct

Actually the “stock TRD PRO Tundra” ran these monsters last year. LOL

If you’d actually even read the “Toyota’s 2015 Baja Truck Parts List” in the article you linked to, you’d see that your precious Tundra example is far more modified than this 2nd gen Raptor is.

So you say this Raptor’s not stock, and to prove it you used the Tundra as an example. The Tundra that Toyota used to prove how bad-ass their TDRPro trim package was by replacing everything that made it a TRDPro. Great example, really furthers your point.

The 3.5L is such a superior motor, they’d be dumb to offer the 6.2L. As it was, they ended up dropping it from the F150 because the take take was so low, it didn’t even make sense to produce it anymore. But hey, if you want to hang out at 5,500 RPM all day to make the same amount of torque, the GM dealer is right

Have you ever heard of federal emissions standards? CAFE is a constraint that the auto manufacturers must work within. This means they get fined if they make cars that get poor fuel economy. It’s not as simple as Ford caring enough about customers to offer a V8 option.

To be fair, that has been going on since the beginning of trucks.

Chevy had the also ridiculously expensive (and frankly quite hideous) Reaper built by Lingenfelter. I agree Ford needs some real competition, none of the others have anything close.

They each have trim packages with some stickers, beefier tires and some different colored shocks, that’s about it. Nothing close to the Raptor except the Ram Runner, which was a ridiculously expensive dealer installed package.

The Raptor needs some competition badly. I love the Raptor, and I’m glad that Ford has gone all out on this, but someone needs to challenge them! One of the manufacturers needs to step up!

Except the problems in the GTs were gearbox related. The engines did fine. But hey, don’t let me harsh your hater narrative.

I’m a big fan of the pano sunroofs in the city for passengers too. The views are amazing in a modern urban setting with high-rises. Don’t get me wrong, they have perks. I just don’t know if I see the point here, given the reputed design environment for this particular vehicle.

I think my Raptor has spent more time in the Rocky’s than it has in Baja

The Rockies aren’t the type of off roading the Raptor is made for. It’s made for the desert and high-speed running.

the TRD pro is more of a truck for the money then a Ford raptor? Are you sure about that?

With the exception of the Ford Raptor I agree with you. My point however is that this is far from a stock vehicle. Roll cage, wheels and tires aside there is an additional $5-15K in suspension modifications which made this particular Tundra capable of competing (and finishing first in its class) in the Baja 1000.

Except to race the TRD Pro, they replaced everything that makes it a TRD Pro, except for the special badge on the grill.

Although the shocks are race shocks, fuel cell, pump etc are all changed the the rigidity of the truck is far greater than stock due to a Chromoly cage, the weight is also likely a lot higher. Bodes well for what that says about the axles, seals, bearings, etc etc.

Pretty sure the stock Tundra doesnt come with Blackhawk bypasses...
