Tyrunt actually appeared quite a few times in the XY anime. First there was Ash’s 2nd Gym Battle:

Saying Bernie’s job is more legitimate than a streamer is the exact kind of BS that’s used to justify poverty wages across the US for all the “essential jobs” that stayed open in person during the pandemic.

“if he’s such a smart guy he should’ve known to buy his house 6 years ago like other people his age”

Of course this sort of response only further buys into the idea that socialists are “against making money” or “want everyone to be poor”.

Basically the conservative version of socialism that lets them hate it without engaging with/understanding it.

This is stupid.   If a guy supports a wealth tax, higher income taxes, and a more equitable distribution of wealth, he can buy himself a $3B house for all I care.

I’m with ya.

It strikes me as odd to argue, in criticizing someone for being insufficiently socialist, to argue that they deserve less because they do a job that is less valuable/important/“real” than another job.  But maybe I just need to re-read my Marx and Chomsky.

As I said elsewhere, I don’t think it’s very socialist/leftist/egalitarian to start ranking the relative value of different people’s jobs and then say people who do one job deserve something more than other people with a supposedly less valuable job.  This all sounds like you just don’t like influencers or whatever,

sounds like you’re upset that he found success and are bitter that you are unable to dictate a stranger’s life to your satisfaction. you’re being weird, also if you think he’s a neolib you’re out of your mind - but you’ve already self-admitted that you are completely uninformed, so I’m wondering why you are blasting

“Just live somewhere cheaper!” is almost always a bad take. He likes living in Los Angeles, and can afford to continue to do so. Good for him. He brought the criticism on himself with his years of red hot rhetoric, but that doesn’t make any of it reasonable.

The Chapo people are proof positive that you can ideologically agree with someone on 95% of topics and still think they are self-righteous, toxic pieces of shit.

Also, Bernie fucking shows up to a real job and votes on bills and advocates for policy. He’s got a resume and receipts. He’s allowed to indulge a little bit, IMO, because he’s still advocating for a specific social democracy vision. Plus he doesn’t put on stupid vintage campaign hats and make dumb whiteboi faces on

Not to mention that he both works out of his home and his family members live with him.

But mostly it’s an old and boring routine that makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

No there are 3 groups:

- normal people who think it’s nice he was able to buy a house in the city he lives in and understand how much money he makes because it’s been transparent the whole time.

- always online parasocial leftist weirdos who feel like they can dictate how and where he lives his life (he doesn’t know who

Regardless of his politics, his hustle has been apparent for at least as long as I’ve known who he is. I like the guy, but he’s very much of the Twitch glitterati ilk whether his die hard followers want to hear it or not. Dude acquired some wealth and bought a mansion. I don’t see him bitching about having to pay

You’re just projecting your own tastes as general principle.

I think, even outside of a ‘survival’ style game, there’s an argument for using limited ammo pools as a method to force players to use multiple weapons - in something like Halo, for example, and that’s even the argument I’d use for Mass Effect 2 swapping over to finite ammo - but yeah, it’s definitely the sort of

Kotaku is absolutely right about Ghost of Tsushima. “A gorgeous setting that deserves a better game”. GoT is painfully repetitive and doesn’t take full advantage of its great atmosphere. Most mongol outposts and fox shrines should have been replaced by more meaningful exploration, combat could have used more stances

I dunno...I am a Christian, but I found the article fascinating. I remembered the debate in the late 90s (including a planned Sega Saturn release of Devil Summoner, which was canned for the USA), but had never played the game other than the demo, which I still have around here.
