I really liked Robin’s character in Awakening, and it helped that I got to design a cool avatar for (in my case) him. Personally felt that it was unfortunate that the protagonists have become less distinct since (although I don’t mind Corrin as much as many other people). But on the other hand it’s nice that the

Never thought about it that way. Good way to put it.

I really appreciate this perspective. This reading of the game also makes me realize that Byleth was more of a character than I realized. I always found them pretty dull, and often wished for a more “interesting” protagonist. Maybe that’s because I don’t relate to that character on the level the author did (I’m a cis

Holy shit defending the IDF by saying “look up some videos on youtube” is possibly the worst defense I have ever heard. Search anything IDF and it’s pretty ugly once you get past the propaganda videos.

but they’re surrounded on all sides by people that would very much love to wipe them off the face of the earth, for no other reason than because they’re Jews. Israel is in a perpetual cold war state with every single one of its neighbors.”

I’m all here for saying fuck this, but Microsoft is absolutely not above selling stuff to various national armies. They don’t give a fuck.

*tries to make a comeback but it’s just vague gagging noises*

Yeah I understand. This topic fucking sucks and I’m upset at how much influence the Saudi government has, too. (America has done an awful job dealing with them.)

It’s fine to be mad about that too, but they can’t do nearly as much about that. In this case some of these people literally work for the same companies they are criticizing.

Boo this fucking sucks. This is the duality of the “We want our scene to get bigger.” It’s easy to say you want more money in the scene, it’s much often harder to make sure that money is at least somewhat ethical. This ain’t it. BOOOOOO.

It’s also a Kinja Klassic from the glory Deadspin (and Kotaku) days.

Guys you can’t have any opinions on snowboarding games unless you actually snowboard. I’m so sorry.

Some counterpoints to arguments made in the article:

Haha, I hear you on the eugenics. I played through it pretty blind on my first playthrough and didn’t know that there were children, much less that I could manipulate my units’ stats to get particular things out of them. And the game did actually get less fun when I learned that because the children stopped feeling

I played a ton of Gen 6 OU on Showdown and Amoonguss was such a monster. I usually won despite having very little idea of how to actually build a team (this has not changed). Funny example of a Pokemon I am quite fond of despite never actually using in the proper games on Nintendo consoles.

Ah dude I think the child mechanic in Awakening honestly slapped. You’ve actually reminded me I still never bought the child campaign DLC for that game and maybe I should. The problem is that it didn’t fit at all in Fates.

Looks great. Nature and scenery weirdly remind me of Breath of the Wild? (Not to mention the map and grappling hook.) Weird comparison I guess. Don’t understand some of the negativity now after watching the footage. The monster at the end doesn’t look great, but everything else looks fun.

My first Halo memory? My older cousins telling my father the blood-spatters in Halo 2's local 4 player co-op were just paint in this definitely-a-paintball-game game. My dad knew better but rolled with it, allowing 8 (?) year old me to continue being melee killed by the flag I was supposed to be capturing.

I’m cracking up imagine this thing like slowly pulsating.
