The best and broadest “trick” I know is to keep everything clean. It’s really easy to find leaks, breaks, chafed hoses, etc whenever your engine bay is clean! I’m not talking polished, but free of chaos.

Will it wheelie?
Please provide photographic proof.
Need to know because of reasons.
Exactly, first thing I thought was, “I wonder what the wheels on the other side are doing?” Not sure what engine/drivetrain layout is like in this car, but in their transverse AWD cars (think Syncro or Haldex) you have a number of bevel gears in-between the front and rear as well (to transmit power to the rear.)
Your handlebars are upside down but I will allow it since you rescued another VJMC. (From a very happy ‘75 CB400F owner.)
I saw an Instagram from Larry Webster (Editor in Chief, R&T) in the hot seat of a Mazda at Goodwood, fingers crossed that it wasn’t him!
Awesome! Would like to hear more of your stories!
Mine is a question of proposed reliability. Well, reliability as a measure of superiority, I guess.
I’m no engineer, but would a greater number of moving parts and more complex systems increase the chances of failure? Buran is by all means a very impressive machine, but STS only used three SSMEs because they didn’t…
XR650R owner here. 135lbs wet. Can confirm I look like a fool kicking it. Oh well.
Damn that's scary.
Any idea why the roof 'V' bars faced backwards instead of forwards? Or, more importantly, why wasn't an X used? (Maybe just helmet room.) It's common to use a forward facing 'V' in a front-engined car since you can support the point of the V where it meets the main hoop with the rear diagonals. That's probably not the…
7.) Elitists Who Don't Want To Talk About Their Cars
As an XR650R supermoto-convert-rider.... DO IT! :)
This isn't so much of a question as it is a big thank you! I co-drove for Bill Caswell in WRC Mexico a few years back and my borrowed race shoes didn't pass tech. Bill and I asked you if I could borrow a set and you handed me your old pair of PRO_SPECs and told me to keep them. Can't thank you enough!
Here's how driver Mark Utrech explained the whole thing, modifying pre-production car for the Ojibwe Forest Rally in Minnesota.
I actually don't think you'll believe how good it is. Also, the saddle height is a couple inches lower, they look quite high and unruly, but you'll feel at home when you throw your leg over one. I just like how much the bike will tell you about what is going on. There's enough travel for the brain to sort out braking…
Yeah, partially that, partially just needed something more firm on the street. OEM CRF stuff on the street dives like crazy under braking. Practically staring at the pavement!
Re-valved CRF forks!
MZ Beghira, duh! Great bike. Friend of mine just sold his off for a song.
Nice front fork conversion! Will do the same on my CB eventually. Such a great look seeing modern kit on an old bike.
Nice! I've got a '75 CB400F and I adore it!
