Does Aderholt have Gaad’s old job? Aw, good job, Aderholt — more than any other character, I deeply hope he survives the show.

The biggest red flag on her background is probably some of the anti-nuke stuff she did as part of her church group a few seasons ago. I have no idea how that would’ve played at State in the early 1990's.
This is how I read it, as well, but I admit that I was watching this scene through my fingers.
Yes, I think at this point I could see her going for the cyanide tablet before she actually “needs” it.
Back in season 1 it seemed that Philip was trying to get Henry interested in hockey because of its standing in Russia. I wonder if that part of Philip is still proud that Henry took up hockey, or if he’s so into his all-American-dad role that he cares more about the upscale boarding school part of it.
Oh, Oleg, you gotta keep the neck tidy if you’re gonna grow a beard.
Rosario Dawson looks luminous. I want her to stay around forever.
I have really mixed feelings as to Xo’s storyline. She’s been amazing, no doubt. But I kind of resent that she’s been pushed to the side for a couple seasons, only for her own plotline to be cancer. And I like that she finally had the revelation that she should be first turning to Rogelio, her life partner, rather…
Completely agree — the show has kind of touched on how it affected Rosa’s complicated relationship with her family, but that’s it. I generally appreciate how relentlessly optimistic this show is (along with Michael Schur’s other shows), but that just cannot co-exist alongside a long prison sentence for two of the…
I actually do come for plotlines about the characters — Rosa coming out as bi, Holt trying to navigate his and Kevin’s social life, even Jake dealing with his parents. There was an episode a while back about Amy and Rosa each trying to figure out their career goals, and the path they needed to get there. Those have…
In addition to the discussion in the recap about stakes, this episode felt a bit “off” to me because it was entirely unbelievable that NINE WEEKS had passed in the safe house. (We’ve seen other episodes with stakeouts or safe houses or whatever, and characters start going crazy after like 36 hours.) I would’ve liked…
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Eric Ripert on the show, so I was excited that we got to see him after all!
You saw one recommendation of a memoir written by a women comedy author, and your first response was to recommend FIVE books written or compiled by men? Way to illustrate Scovell’s book.
I can’t decide if I really want them to lean into a meta-storyline with Rogelio adapting a telenovela for an American audience. I got bored with it when Seinfeld did it . . . but maybe this show could pull it off.
I must confess that I would have rooted against Joestachio in the finale — although for quite some time it’s been clear that we wouldn’t be stuck with a finale with two unlikable people.
I love that after weeks of Joestachio sniping about Carrie’s toast dishes, he . . . fucked up toast. (I also didn’t understand his comments about putting the embers in the broth. Who wants ashy food?)
The previews for next week showed them at the Aspen Food and Wine festival. Assuming that was the actual festival (and not just leftover signage), that was in June 2017. So perhaps this season they filmed it all in one stretch in May-June 2017.
Ehhhhhh, I will be the voice of dissent here and say that it was a great premise, but poorly executed. I didn’t think Fred Savage and Rob Lowe had good comic timing or chemistry together, and I didn’t buy them as brothers. I know that Savage was a great kid/teen actor, but I think now he might be a much better…
Holy cow, what an amazing brilliant combination. I sincerely cannot wait to see what other ridiculously charming actors get cast on the show (and what batshit crazy character Jason Mantzoukas will show up to play).
Given that the Olympics are the only time that many sports make it into the pop culture landscape, this seems pretty straightforward.
