Exact same scenario here. Had a model 3 performance on order and had electrician come out to install 50amp plug in our detached garage and realized we didn’t have power to charge an EV faster than 15amp (~4mi added/hour). Cost to bring in new power to garage was 1/5 the cost of the car. It just wasn’t worth it.

I am a WA resident who tried to buy an EV last year. Ultimately my living situation changed and I no longer needed to drive the miles that pushed me to consider an EV. This is my experience buying an EV in WA state that I feel is still relevant.

We should not make people feel guilty about buying something based on 4-5x a year they have a need for longer range or have anxiety about a trip. This is normal even if it’s not logical.
