If the car is genuinely in good shape why not just list the miles and price it accordingly?

Well said. My co workers 06 TDI (BRM) did NOT start yesterday in -18F. he had anti-gel additive, new battery, fresh fuel filter, and an extra charged battery for backup. No dice.
Yeah, I thought the ‘left garage open for an hour’ thing wasn’t really the best test, but it could be an unheated detached garage...?
1. 1 hour of actual cold soak is hardly sufficient. That’s just silly.
#2 diesel wax can still gel and clog lines and filters; no technology can overcome that (except heated fuel lines i guess). Even #1 diesel will start to gel at -40 or so. Cold start reliability was a large reason I didn’t buy a diesel F350, as I occasionally need to leave my truck at trailheads for days at a time, in…
You should probably drive one. When it comes to what makes a luxury car these days (since everything is stuffed with features now) it outclasses most luxury cars. It’s super quiet, has a great ride, handles extremely well and is very fast. The minimalist interior still has real wood and quality leather, and of course…
I agree little life was probably taken off the brakes. But brakes are what, a 30 minute job that any junior tech can do? And they could just swap out the pads with some cheapo Car Quest pads. Use the OEM pads they took out of this guy’s car to use when another victim with a Mustang comes in for brake work.
“Slushbox”
i think yours is the correct response.
Do yourself a favor and at least go drive a 2013-2014 Porsche 981 Boxster. It has the exotic look and feel you want, is the most fun to drive car you can get at almost any price, sounds amazing and can be had in great condition for your budget. That generation has proven to be very reliable, the maintenance is minimal…
Don’t give up that easily, there’s plenty of Vipers out there for $35K, and if you’re moving on to something else in 3 years, it’s unlikely you’ll lose anything in depreciation either.
I’m laughing about the big butt seats you slide around in. All anyone ever did with my model of Focus ST, is complain about the seats, which keep you securely in place. I like it.
I hate when auto critics bring up the trope about American car interiors being suckfests. Jaguar F-Type interiors are made of the same cheap…
I can’t believe that this $120K car based on a mass produced car isn’t as nice as the bespoke $600K cars it’s faster than. SOOOOOOO shocking. I’m SO sick of this constant dig at the Corvette as it’s older and less accurate than the 1982 Encyclopedias I grew up reading. I’ve driven a few C7s, and it’s a really nice…
Sounds a lot like Kurt is still butt hurt he wasn’t invited to the initial press gathering. Expecting it to have the same interior as cars that cost more and can’t touch its performance...... you can’t have everything, especially on a budget. And there are plenty of complaints with issues on those $175k slower cars.
Mold and mildew cleaner is $5 for a bottle. Buy a roll of paper towels and get to scrubbing. Toss in a few moth balls and let it sit for a week and the mold will be gone. Mold is easy to get rid of, I’ve had to do it twice.
This is the kind of pickiness I live for.
Then buy a Tahoe.
I made it to the end of the section pertaining to Richard Parker. I feel for him. But at the same time I wonder how much money he spent on beer, cigarettes, gambling, cable TV, fast food, and other non-essentials as his debt ballooned. Maybe it was none, maybe it was a little, maybe it was a lot.
Is the interior really that small? If so, as a 6'7" individual, I would be sorely disappointed that a major car company would overlook how tall the average male is actually getting.
... and police boxing in the parking lot.
