I worked with a woman who was a volunteer EMT. She was in a wreck and was “thrown clear”, i.e. ejected from the car. She was convinced that not wearing a seat belt saved her life and would never wear one ever again.

I mean... let’s not forget the basically forced labor here in the US prisons lol.
Translating math into something tangible you can understand isn’t very natural for a lot of people. Telling them how many hundreds of pounds of force your body exerts even in a minimal impact just doesn’t translate into their heads.
Can expand this to be that almost anything was better back in the old days. Saw someone on social media this weekend talk about how they had an old fella giving a presentation and talked about what he paid for gas decades ago and the room groaned about how much cheaper it was...until they ran it through the inflation…
I think it’s probably because they’re more likely to be owned by adult women and not 20 year old men and thus not driven like they have a death wish.
“Valentine is now facing four criminal charges – including burglary and receiving stolen property, according to the New York Post. He remains at Waukesha Country Jail on $50,000 bond. So far, Valentine is the only suspect who has been caught. The eight others remain on the loose.”
The 13th Amendment certainly agrees.
A car is safe because it is big. Having all of that car around you obviously makes you much safer. From ignorant people willfully know nothing about engineering, crumple zones, safety features, etc. &c.
That is some fantastic lighting on the Peugeot 304 cab. Nice shot.
I’m so lucky that this is true for me.
Potential new discussion topic: What is the definition of a “good” driver? Is it more than just following all the laws and not crashing? Because that really seems like the bare minimum.
Ah, yes, I remember that one. People wanted to be “thrown clear” because, of course, through the windshield at 40 mph is always the safest way to exit a vehicle.
Older cars are safer, because they built them “better in the old days.”
I need a three row 6000 pound SUV because I have a kid and a dog.
Wir sagen “keine Chance”, oder “auf keinen Fall”, oder auch “das ist nicht drin”. I live in Germany and, by some definitions, am German ;) Thank you, nonetheless.
Das Auto sieht super aus und hat m.E. einen Wert, trotz seines Alters. Allerdings, nicht den genannten Wert von 15000 (!) Dollar. Keine Würfel.
Perhaps we’ve been all wrong about Predators. Maybe they are misunderstood, textile-based creatures that were scorned in favor of modern technology in some way, many generations ago. In their quest for justice they’ve evolved and adopted uniquely advanced weaponry to fight for their true place in the galaxy.
“Predator grille”
Came here to say this. We have a self-cert model for FMVSS compliance and people seem to really struggle with that concept.
Wawa is the khaki pants of convenience stores. It is just fine, everything about it is fine. Sheetz is edgy. 7-11 classic. Kum-N-Go has a fun name. Buc-ee’s is the Wal-Mart of convenience (that’s not a compliment). Casey’s has decent pizza. BP is the classic gas station convenience store.
