A valid point.. but I’m reminded of living in Japan. They don’t seem to have any tragedies of the commons. Their public trans is clean and punctual, and their parks are lovely. Are they just better people, have a much a better society, or both?

Despite finding rarer and better looking cars street parked, I still believe that this 159 taxi is the best.
Not really. Pretty much every exotic/rare car is entered into the various events. And those who don’t enter their rare car don’t drive them to the events typically and will instead drive their “beater” M5/AMG type vehicle.
I keep a blog of my favorite street-parked, unrestored cars here (hence my username): http://curbwatching.tumblr.com/
Thank god for the subtitles. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have know what he was saying.
I had to do that on my dad’s old Camary that he gave me years ago when I had to change tags. the bolts were rusted into the receiver sides embedded in the bumper. Sawed off the bolts and bought some drywall screws and ran them through the bumper. Surprisingly pretty sturdy.

Yes... but, can I get a 15 yo Miata with a clean stock body, under 150k miles for under 6k? The answer is of course no. This, to me, is like my dreams about the Honda beat except that it’d be easier to insure and colossally easier to find parts for.
It’s amazing how fickle we are as car aficionados. Off the top of my head, this is the only affordable, rear mid-engined, rear wheel drive car released in the last 25 years. And when it came out, we all gave it a collective yawn. 1zz? Yawn. Not as good looking as the S2000? Yawn. Not as fast as an S2000? Yawn. Not as…
I know a guy that knows what it is. Would you believe it started life as a 1969 Corvette? A one-off custom build.
When I was in Paris and took Le Metro, at one stop there was an accordion player, and as a bad American I couldn’t stop thinking of “Do you have a lee-sonse?” I went back to the hotel, found it on YouTube, and laughed somewhat too loud.
