    I expect this won’t be a popular opinion, but I think the Audi TT Mk1 was the high point of the model for visual style. The Mk2 and Mk3 were okay, but the designers seemed to be saying, “Let’s make the car look more generic.”

    Related but more useful tech: My car has lane departure warnings. In a friend’s car the warning is an annoying beep, but in mine the steering wheel vibrates, as if you’re driving over some very low rumble strips. It’s subtle and pretty slick.

    Good observation. I was going to say that I drove an E30 in the 1980s and I’d be happy to be driving one now. (I’ve gone through an E36, E36/7, and E90, but the E30 is still my favorite. My current daily is a Mini.) It’s sad but understandable that they can’t make a comeback.

    I have no suggestions, but that Audi ur-Quattro in the header photo pretty sweet. Not that a $10,000 version would be anything close to complete or drivable.
