Good observation. I think the common theme is that Republicans think men wearing dresses are to be mocked. Giuliani and Cawthorn are play-acting for their audience, as though it’s Halloween. If instead they were to argue that it’s no big deal for men to wear dresses, that would be apostasy, and they’d get huge…
I would be happier living in a society where it wasn’t natural to assume that orphaned children would be impoverished. A robust social safety net in the richest country in the history of the world is too much to ask, I guess.
