I’ll just throw this idea out there: Maybe the idea of celebrity is a little... unfortunate? People who are celebrated not for their actions or talent or accomplishments, but simply because, somehow, they have become well known?

From what I’ve read, shortages are not due to people getting prescriptions for these drugs. Instead, it’s because hospitals and such organizations have been stocking up. Apparently when a specialized drug receives wide notice, it doesn’t take too much to screw up the supply to existing patients.
