So what happened to what Retro’s been working on since Tropical Freeze, so for the last... FIVE YEARS? wow. Either that was canceled too or this is in the really, really early stages and everyone’s still working on that...

i mean mirrors not so much. ive seen working mirrors, though they were usually just a duplicate imagery from another camera reversed and displayed across a surface. no like realistic lighting or anything. i mean think like the portals from the portal games. those are very like mirrors, they just dont apply things like

No, that’s not correct. It is right there out in the open in the food kingdom, on the back side of a wall. All you have to do is walk over there. If it was behind a locked door that people found a stupid glitch to get through the door early, then your argument applies. This portal was clearly there to tease the level,

Maybe you are playing the game wrong, and the proper time to see the Mushroom Kingdom was in the Luncheon Kingdom. The developer obviously wanted players to find teaser warp, and to get the Moon(star) that is there while teasing that you’ll be able to travel there soon enough. Same thing was done with New Donk City,

“The plot is paper thin.”

there’s more that you can spoil about a game than just its plot. We all know the plot. I can say that I’m pleasantly surprised at some of the twists and turns the game takes that feel super cool, especially if you’ve played Mario games before. Those things are what we’re talking about here.

My exact thought. It would break my heart if kids played this game associated with an out-and-proud racist—specifically that the developer knew he believed these things and didn’t care. I can guarantee you that a substantial number of “ruined my childhood” comments from fans of the game years down the road.

Have fun not playing a game you’d otherwise enjoy because its devs don’t want it associated with a racist.

Good on them.

Counter-point: No it isn’t. This is a reasonable repercussion.

Is it too late to back this game

I would like to remind everyone that this is not censorship and that Playtonic as a private business has the right to express itself as they see fit. If they do not wish to include voice work by a controversial figure in their video game that is well within their right. Jon’s free speech was not violated in any way

It’s not about outrage. Many people simply don’t want to listen to someone with stupid, hateful views. And why should we? People are judging jontron and finding him lacking.

I’m shocked they don’t just crowd source this! There are thousand of Trek fans who would happily re-edit a part of an episode on their home systems once CBS have scanned in the 35mm film. I get there’s not a ton of money in it from a sales point of view, but when I watch Voyager on BBCA I think, christ this looks

I just can’t view it like that or waste a second of my time being angry about such a thing. They really are a tiny team working on one of the biggest things a small company shouldn’t have undertaken. All of those “lies” were stated in pre-release while the game was still in development, and as any long time gamer
