That's the one big saving grace for me. Assuming the person on the other end isn't a scammer.

That sounds very compelling. On the other hand I often go in with very low expectations, and then still manage to be disappointed that she couldn't even meet that!
I think that's true in principle, but all I ever got were the crazies and text-speakers. The couple times I decided to go for it and meet women for coffee/drinks all the warning signs came up that I couldn't really catch online. One was just downright dishonest in her profile.
Does that apply to all the women ghosting as well, because there seems to be even more of those, and women here outright encourage it.
I didn't realize guys were doing this a lot too. I thought it was mostly a woman thing, because whenever it's come up here, women have tended to defend/encourage the practice.
How would that conversation even go?
It's not a complaint it's a statement of fact that runs counter to men's assertions that women, as a class, have it easy getting what they want romantically/sexually.
I wasn't saying a geeky girl is any more entitled to a hot guy than a geeky guy is to a hot girl. But if guys want to make it such a 'tragedy' that they can't get a supermodel girlfriend then why isn't a tragedy if a girl can't get an Abercrombie and Fitch model boyfriend? They want to act like guys are the only…
So you complain you can't just order up whatever man you want, but you assert that men over 30 can just order up whatever women they want. Yeah, that sounds totally rational and even handed...
You're boiling down ideal sexual preference SOLEY to age?
Oh man do I wish that were true!!!
Are there men like that? Sure. But to me the issue seems to be women ASSUMING that's all men are interested in.
Understanding we're just dealing with one study that takes an evolutionary psych approach, where does it say men aren't attracted to women their own age?
Of course there's also the height issue for women.
You are trying to introduce a lot of faulty assumptions to impose your own conclusions. Just because someone has a sexual preference for a certain type of person DOES NOT mean they would actually like to be with that person. So it has NOTHING to do with realistic/not realistic expectations. It's not like he was trying…
Hard to take this seriously when the main complaint is a non-conventionally attractive girl can't get herself a Chris Evans. Maybe SHE should have more realistic standards. You want to complain about the geeky guys going after the hot girl while you ignore your whole notion of the geeky girl that can't get the hot…
Exactly
Well since 90% of the female population are also complete shit-stains, everyone wins!
Except that's NOT what this says at all. This is purely about sexual preference, NOT about seeking a mate.
I don't really get what makes a good sex scene over a bad one. They all seem equally comical to me tbh.
