Also, I love my RX-8, which lives once again, so I may be biased

Do it David! It’s fun, and the most exciting part of any day is praying to the gods of apex seals!
This is going to be fantastic. Thank you for reviving this
I can second roasting the carpet. The day I bought my RX-8, I stopped to put fuel in it, and I actually dropped the pump because I thought my car had caught fire due to the amount of heat coming from the side of the car. Also, after running it hard, if it rains, I can watch water bounce off the hood, much like how one…
This is so true. Its only recently that American cars have begun to stop sucking again (about 2012). I work at a Chrysler dealership and we have a Jeep Renegade that comes in with “Buy American” stickers on it. I laugh every time, because those really are built in Italy. I love Chrysler products from an emotional…
I don’t think so. I’ve been under both, and they’re way different. Plus a Flex doesn’t sit that high up. Besides, a 356 is nothing more than a glorified Beetle, so even if I’m wrong and it is a Flex, at least it grew up into the athletic brother.
My exact words to my coworker (another technician at the Benz dealership) were “This things a fucking freight train”. I hit 90 and it still pulled like it wanted to do a lap at Pocono. I think its faster than my RX-8 to be honest
Side note, I drove a 2012 CX-9 about 2 years ago, and I learned something important. If you want a rocket ship, buy one of those. That impressed me, and felt like it killed the GL450 I wrenched on next.
I agree, bring back the “Zoom-Zoom” thing. Make everything lightly sporty, even. I think that could be done, and could be fun, and different enough from the competition to attract some good buyers. Hell, throw some day-glo colors back into the lineup to spice up the front row of dealerships and ad campaigns.
Awesome! Another recall! I’m honestly just excited that it’s nothing major. It could be something horrifying.... wait, maybe it is bad. I’ll never be able to tell. Owning a Series 1 has removed my ability to fear anything, ever.
Two summers ago, I was going to pick up my little brother from his summer job working I.T. at his high school, and I decided to engage in some backroad bombing in my RX-8. I thought I had scouted the area well enough (it’s off the lake near my town. I’m there a lot, and there’s normally no police). So I blasted over…
I'm really surprised more college football games don't end with a guy like that getting mauled. Pretty clear helmet on helmet that potentially nuked my teammates ability to talk? I would've fed him a clothesline like its wwe next play.
You know, I never thought that being American meant blindly following someone. I was under the impression that free thought and protest against the powers that be was the most American thing you can do.
The vin, and proof you own the car. That's standard procedure most dealers. The parts department is the only ones I know of who have access to the vin to key decoder in DealerConnect. As a tech, I know I can't get it, and I've poked around everywhere. Different accounts have different access.
Being a tech at a FCA dealership, I find it interesting that these guys had access to the key codes. As far as I've been able to tell, only parts people have accounts linked to the key code screen in DealerConnect. I don't even have a grayed out option for it, it just doesn't exist on my page. I wonder if someone…
I don't know if any of the pictures on this page show the evidence from that specific proceeding. The top photo has keys that say GM on them
That link you posted shows the Sky as having a transponder key, unless I misread it. And yeah,Those resistors did suck, but you could fix the car by installing one in the ignition wiring. That’s a pretty common fix for the security system failing.
Scandalous! Do, do, tell the juicy gossip!
You say that like you've found a manual Mercedes. I worked for a MB dealer for about 3 yrs and ran into like 3 manuals the whole time. I'll admit, it was a smaller dealer tho
