This is why I don't understand the rage about a lack of surprises. It's our own fault. And it's easy to fix. I think next year I'm going to skip gaming sites for an entire month before E3 just to make sure I'm surprised.

I'd like to see and hear more about these games. I don't feel like we're recieving very good coverage from most outlets these days. Given that this is supposed to be the biggest event in gaming you'd think they could spare a few extra people to cover everything.

I definitely agree that E3 is all about new and surprising games. Where we disagree is that somehow the publishers are doing something wrong in the week or two before E3. The gaming media goes out of its way to dig up all kinds of info that was supposed to be a secret saved for E3. Beyond, for example, was leaked a

Well if I read the suit correctly then West and Zampella were saying that Activision breached contract before MW2 was ever released. It was a rather long time ago that I read the suit but that's what I remember them spelling out.

Certainly a possibility but my money is against it. They were originally part of the team that worked on MoH games as part of EA. Now that they've made a big enough name for themselves I expect they'll stay independent and look for publishing partners. But what you suggest isn't unreasonable.

Seems like serious possibility. The other option would seem to be that they realized they didn't have a chance of winning a suit against those employees who just plain quit. Or that they were concerned a case with those employees would be lumped together with the West/Zampella case and make them look bad to that jury.

I'm on the same page with you about Gamestop. It's not just the used games I hate.

Whatever happens with West and Zampella I'm happy to hear that the rest of the team got paid.

But if they can show Activision breached contract first it's different, isn't it? Also, they can sue to make Activision pay the legal fees when/if they win.

I think the timeline is significant here. If Activision had already breached the contract I think West and Zampella are ok. Given that MW2 came out almost 3 years ago and Activision is only just paying I would think that would give their case more ammo. The other employees should be able to sue for damages because of

They didn't. They own their company. They're just gonna use EA to publish. Which is really a great idea. L4D, Rockband, and a number of other games were published under the EA partners program.

"Firstly, it's physically impossible..."

As to the First inconsistency I would say that it is a matter of interpretation. I never percieved Fate vs. Choice to be one of the themes in the series at all. The Man vs. Machine (Organic intelligence vs. Artificial intelligence) theme was set up in the first game. Actually, it's pretty much the first thing we see

I don't think they're selling them new anymore but the Art of Ralph McQuarrie books that you can find on Ebay or Amazon are an even better way to check out his work. Amazing stuff

I'm sure both of them have done equally good work since but I took the comment to mean that Star Wars is unmatched in that it has the work of both of those people. I'd add Ben Burtt's sound work as equally important to the quallity of the films. There are plenty of movies that have just as good sound design or music

It's a Star Wars reference.

The only thing unique that you don't get from the CE is the Collector Assault Rifle which isn't exactly important anyway. So basically you get a little DLC reward if you buy any of those other items that only serious fans would buy anyway. This article is ridiculous. Pathetic really

It really depends on what you mean by big games. Darksiders 2 is a big game for me but it might not be for other people. On the other hand I couldn't care less about GTA V or Max Payne. If you wanna look at the majority of the games coming out this year though check this out: [en.wikipedia.org]

"I actually LIKE just going through the combat in the game versus it being a chore that I grind through for story. I'm not against turn-based RPGs or ones with slower more analytical intelligence instead of spatial intelligence for action games...but this is just the example of the action/rpg where they get the

Oh yeah, I loved it. I played for an hour or two my first sitting when I was expecting to play for maybe 15 minutes. The demo totally sold me on the game, especially with the $20 bonus Amazon is offering.
