This show is rather invested in technological realism, so I groan every time someone "destroys" a device by stepping on it. Breaking the glass display of a phone does not magically make a phone inoperable or untrackable, or wipe its data. It's an unnecessary and ineffective security method.
The tones were quite audible on my headphones (ER-6i's, and I'm 28). The center frequency is actually about 14kHz.
