I kinda wanna tweet at Warren Spector to see what he thinks of Shenmue. Though different, it sounds like Sega was thinking in likeminded ways to Immersive Sim developers like him. Definitely gonna need to check these games out.

Not really sure why this is so controversial. I play stealth games at “enemies can see though walls and went to Harvard” difficulty, which usually is a very carefully tailored hardcore challenge that I love, and I’ve never felt patronised by the existence of the easy difficulties in these games. If anything, it makes

Excellently done Jason, thank you for what you do. Stories like these are very sad to read but important.

talk about gatekeeping.

I think I read that at Telltale’s closure they were pretty far along with Episode 3 and that some production was going on for Episode 4 as well. That doesn’t mean they couldn’t have changed things when the team moved over to Skybound, but I’m fairly certain that a story-focused studio like this would have planned out

It’s not a streaming service, you download games from the service like a normal game, so ISPs don’t get a say in the matter.

apple actually made a direct dig at google during the conference, pointing out that you can download games from the service and can play them offline (important for a mobile game obviously).

makes sense 76 could use the extra customers from people stumbling on it on steam. plus beth and valve have had a pretty close working relationship over the years so I’m not surprised they didn’t leave for long.

Cautiously optimistic about this, since I’ve played a handful of excellent and compelling mobile-focused games, so I know there’s potential, but it seems tough to get those kinds of games greenlit without MTX up the wazoo. I don’t have any iWhatever right now though, but hoping this sends waves throughout the industry

Just know that you are a part of the problem as well by abusing the leave-match feature so gratuitously. In fact, I bet your non-competitive MMR would be a lot higher if you DIDN’T do it so much, since each time you leave it goes down a bit, meaning each match after you leave will be with fewer and fewer

no matter your excuses, you still are sabotaging the matchmaking system (as well as the actual matches you’re leaving) by bailing matches so often. And if you are soloQing you don’t get to be this level of a whiner about who you get randomly matched with. You chose to get teamed with randoms. The endorsement rank is

when you make a great game and nobody can find it because it’s buried under hundreds games that are literally just one room with random Unity assets thrown into it for a quick buck, and then random people from the_donald spam you with literally thousands of negative reviews because your main character is a woman,

Basically what valve has done with their 30% cut. They let epic sneak up on them by having such a high % rate.

Yes, if they are understaffed for a task larger than they can handle then they are fundamentally doing a bad job. I’m sick of their hippie approach to software development, it isn’t befitting of a company whose control over the game industry is so large that hundreds of companies and millions of game devs outside the

you’re sabotaging the making system by leaving matches immediately before they start so many times, and are unwilling to communicate with players so solve your qualms, and not using the Looking for Group to find like minded players, and are expecting a regimented comp on quickplay when you could be doing competitive

Can’t confirm it myself but I believe your rank gets reset if you get reported and Blizzard acts on it too, so a high level person with an endorsement level of 1 is probably a jerk.

Never done the first (likely getting it in the gog sale) but I’m a huge immersive sim fan and will be looking forward to this for sure. I root for that genre harder than a Bostoner roots for the Patriots.

This won’t replace “dedicated” consoles for people who care to have them, but I def see the benefits. My good friend is a Western junkie and REALLY wanted to play Red Dead 2, but doesn’t have a console and doesn’t wanna buy one just for a single game. People without a gaming pc or console with this will be able to

I go back and forth on the streaming. One one hand, my computer is meh so it’d be great to play games on max settings without buying a new computer. On the other, my internet connection sucks so I might be better off playing games on my own hardware. Plus, I’ve recently gotten into modding skyrim and it’s been one of

Honestly jeez yeah, google is worse than Valve at sticking to a project. Companies that are wealthy enough to spend “fuck you” money on things they never follow through with annoy me.
