syndication is a BIG deal, more episodes means they can charge more to syndicate it.

The other thing that depresses me about nft is that we have this communication media tool where data can be freely multiplied and shared, and that’s wonderful, and capitalists react by trying to infect that ideal with artificial scarcity just to make a buck.

Why not? Better than making the games impossible to play on new hardware.

I agree w/ people that the title should be changed to just news channel. Fox News (cable channel) and a local news station on Fox (network channel) have nothing to do with each other than the word Fox.

willem i could hear, the rest i’d have never guessed

I think this was the right move. Those scenes made me uncomfortable. Like, when I play a game in VR I remember it as if it happened to me, since you experience it in 3D while standing up etc, and I did NOT like that this game decided to give me the experience and memory of jumping off a building without any warning.

If a great game only exists because of a hardware manufacturer funding/developing it (thinking of Bayonetta 2 only existing because nintendo was the only publisher that wanted to play ball and fund it) I recognize that the game exists indirectly because of exclusivity deals, but still in a perfect world it’d be better

Half of psychonauts 1 felt like a tutorial, so im excited to see if psychonauts 2 can really dive into the creative potential of psychonauts that I know double fine is capable of. The later levels are so clever and it was too bad (until now) to  not know whether we’ll ever get more of that brilliance.

Now playing

More notes for RDR2: killing racists gives you positive karma. Also there’s a sidequest where Arthur meets a man he later learns is a former slave-catcher that misses his past, throws his cherished heirlooms in a fire, and says to his face that “some legacies [...] are for pissing on.” And killing him gives you

There’s a mod for Skyrim that replaces spiders with bears. I love it and it’s necessary for me. Too bad MMOs can’t be patched with something similar for these things.

Kinda did the same thing when they updated GTAIV, just clumped the DLC into everyone’s copy of the game. Maybe takes less overhead to maintain one version of the game that has all the content?

But none of that stops me from going into a level at the vanilla starting point with no items and then speedrun from that perspective, the whole point is you can customize to whatever restrictions or cool modifications you want.

The core GTA experience of fucking with civilians and vehicles and weapons and cops in a realistic sandbox...... but now with your friends(!) is still an unbeatably great experience. The rest is fun just as like a relaxing filler while listening to a podcast or whatever, cuz the driving and shooting are fun enough.it

Gonna go a different route from everyone else and ask why they had to force one now, after all these years of being able to have both coexist? If people are paying $500 bucks for this damn thing then let them select stuff in menus however they damn please.

People poopoo-ing this don’t really understand that even if teenagers can’t vote now, they will be able to very soon, and many keep aware of what’s going on in politics. Not to mention those who know people who CAN vote that they can convince to be more civically active. Stuff like this can pay off in the future.

I don’t see why masks and general good health practices can’t go together. Why one or the other?

Great great piece, thanks for this. The spread of this conspiracy has been a colossal failure on the part of our media, both traditional and social.

the people who actually write and edit material for Kotaku have nothing to do with the advertising on the site. In fact, any newsroom worth a damn will keep those two departments as far apart as possible to keep them from influencing each other, which is why we see this article in the first place.
