duly noted, maybe i’ll see if i can get my friends to stop picking shit up for so long at the start of every round. But I dunno, it still feels like there’s more attention in the design that could be pointed towards the dull moments to make them at least a little less draining. After all, the only reason you’re even

I think you’re missing the context of my post. The original commenter asked “what am I missing?” and I listed one of the most praised and innovative elements of the game that the commenter literally didn’t mention. I’m not telling anyone they’re playing anything wrong. I play a lot of immersive sims so I’m used to

that’s what I do, and I have soooo much better of a time, thank you very much ;)

There’s definitely something psychologically satisfying about finding good things (my friend seems to be an addict for it, since whenever I play with him, we end up looting like two different areas before he feels satisfied.) but it ends up being such a futile effort since I’m 99% not going to win the next firefight,

I’m glad you (and millions of others) are enjoying it, and Apex definitely improves on the BR model, but it still just doesn’t literally feel worth my time to play these games anymore in their state. Most of the design attention seems goes towards the shooting, despite the majority of people’s matches being focused on

Watching most of these movies before Infinity War (skipping the trash ones, or ones I had already seen) as someone who vaguely avoided them in the past, was actually pretty fun. Felt kinda like the biggest budget TV show of all time.

On wikipedia, William Sadler is one of the few actors listed in the cast without a specific character named, and he’s an arguably very prominent actor that’s been in the biz for decades in some major shows and movies, and he’s a white man with grayish-blonde hair on top of that, so my very educated guess would be that

Said this in other comments, but I’m done with shooter royales until they either minimize the downtime or make the downtime compelling in its own right. I’m just not interested in games about picking up weapons on the ground for 10 minutes and then getting shot down by an enemy squad. Like, why not make the map

Now playing

It’s more than that. Stuff like, if a far away bokoblinis standing near an explosive barrel with a tall grass field nearby and the wind is juuuuust moving a certain direction, you can light the grass on fire with a fire arrow at a good angle and the wind will spread the fire in the direction of the explosivebarrel,

Yeah definitely check it out sometime. The story isn’t as tightly wound asHuman Revolution (or the first game), but the gameplay is as good as ever and it’s kinda exciting to play a deus ex game with contemporary AAA production values, and the setting, small that it may be, is fun to walk around and do side quests in.

Maybe you missed the detailed systems-based physics sanbox the game is built on?a lot of fun is gotten in how reactive the enemies, link, and the world are to the elements and physics and messing with it. Usually these kinds of games are very on-rails with the way you’re “allowed” to interact with the world, while

Coincidentally, I think I’m going to be starting a new playthrough soon too. Probably after I beat Deus ex mankind divided. Probably on the higher difficulty so that I have to be more clever and resourceful.

Deus ex mankind divided has kind of show me just how frivolous huge open worlds are, since its map is probably only 3 blocks of Street in size and yet it is more dense and interesting to wander then most games I've played.

you could make it yourself

Call me when I can get myself a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster at one of these theme parks.

Loooooove this. On reddit I once had someone challenge me to do a kinda of art history semiotic analysis of Pong after I said that all games (as art) have politics embedded in them in one way or another, and one of the things I wrote about off the cuff among others was how Pong is a two-player game you woulda found at

Very very excited to see a new Joe Pesci movie. Love that dude so much and he earned his retirement, but seeing him in a NEW movie directed by Scorsese himself is a real special thing that I didn’t expect.

Penny Arcade is speaking the truth. I’m not playing a BR shooter again until they find a way to either minimize the downtime or to make the downtime fun (AI enemies running around the map? skillful platforming needed to get around? actually compelling settings you enjoy exploring and discovering?)

Shouldn’t a class-based shooter TELL you what those advantages and disadvantages of characters are, rather than forcing players to piece it together like this? Like, in Overwatch characters with bigger hitboxes are literally bigger characters than the smaller ones, but here they all are the same basic size and nothing

Done with BR shooters until one of em gets rid of the 15 minutes of picking up random items and holding down the W key running around boring scenery before getting shot in one hit by someone 100 feet away. The gameplay loop of these things suck, and weird balance stuff like this article make em even worse.
