That would’ve been killer - Tim McIlrath has one of my favourite voices (moreso back in the day when he could still do the raw scream-yell he was so good at). Maynard obviously has a great voice but I find his delivery really gratingly unenergetic sometimes, which is one of the reasons “Passenger” has never been my

I would have gone for “Knife Prty” by Deftones, but that’s a really solid list. that Bright Eyes tune is an all-timer

Have you guys read Fukanaga’s script for IT? Thing is absolutely godawful. It’s a shame he didn’t get to direct, but keep that man well away from writing that adaptation

Jeff is so good at tapping into the anxieties of the world around him and translating them into songs that bang so hard they’re not just constant bummers to listen to. No Dream might just be his best solo work so far, it’s unbelievably good

Lake Mungo holds the distinction of having the single scariest scene I’ve ever witnessed in a horror movie, and everyone who’s seen the movie knows exactly what I’m talking about

it’s very possible you’re right. I’ve blocked out so much of the last season I can barely remember - all I know is that Cristin Milioti is a goddamn delight

I was all about Miguel Ferrer as Lloyd, tho

I hope she can bring us more songs on the level of “Supercut”, because goddamn we could use that level of bittersweet banger right now

I’ve never seen that - actually the trilogy and Phenomena are the only Argento I’ve seen. I was just really getting into him and thinking of doing a deep dive on his work when I saw Mother of Tears which put me off for life, lmao

Mother of Tears is genuinely one of the worst films I’ve ever seen, and I adore the first two in that trilogy

he and Gillian are the funniest, but I think Alison and Danny were the best at mixing in the moments of really heartfelt sincerity in the middle of a damn comedic scene without ever losing a step in the comedy. it’s an insane talent and I’ve rarely seen a show do it better than Community - and the balance between

I quite like Robin, but it’s been long enough that I can’t remember if that was from the actual character or Cobie Smulders generally being awesome. everyone else except Marshall (and The Mother in her like two scenes) is absolutely awful without a doubt

feels like this is the actual darkest season we were promised S3 would be

I just got to King-Size Homer last night. goddamn if that isn’t just one of the funniest episodes of TV ever

Part 1 flew by me a bit, but “Virile” is one of the best songs of the year thus far. excited to hear the full album in one sitting and let it stew for a bit

I wish the live-action version was animated, and this was the voice cast for it. Partly because doing this series in live-action is just a massive gamble where you either have to change or skip over some of the most memorable moments, and partly because yes this voice cast is absolutely fire

now this is a man who knows how to appreciate season 6!

Revival is the second best modern King book - after 11.22.63 which is some distance ahead

it’s my favourite Wright work honestly. he could do so much with so little, and while the big-budget polish of his films is lovely, they just don’t have that kinetic, scrappy charm that every second of Spaced has. and Jessica Stevenson’s brand of comedy meshed so well with Wright’s and Pegg’s it was actually unreal.

This album is goddamn incredible and I can’t believe how gripping it is from start to end. When I found out her granddad is sampled on “Crystal Clear” singing a love song to his wife it absolutely broke me. Incredible production and songwriting throughout as well. I think this is the best album of the year
