nah, that would have robbed us of “Strange Overtones” which is one of the greatest songs he ever wrote

two of your picks pretty much align with mine; I agree Empire is great, and I honestly enjoy the majority of Rogue One - I can see why the last act is what grabs people, but the whole thing is well-made and fun. I also gotta say, I have a real spot for The Phantom Menace. maybe because it’s the first one I remember…
I would say straight up the best, if we’re talking about Ahsoka’s arc in S5, or Maul on Mandalore, or even the Umbara arc in S4. but I don’t like many of the Star Wars movies so I guess my opinion comes with an optional hefty grain of salt. the shows, mainly Clone Wars but The Mandalorian as well, pretty much entirely…
hmm, I love Genndy’s Clone Wars with all my heart but for my money Season 5 of Filoni’s just eclipses it. visually, Genndy has the win by a landslide, but it’s not insignificant that Filoni had years of character development and buildup under his belt, which when he finally paid it off in the Maul/Mandalore and Ahsoka…
yeah, frustratingly they never figured out what to do with the core cast of Rebels until season 4. up until then they were walking character sheets with a set amount of traits to cycle between, and the ability to constantly defeat Thrawn via plot armour/luck/Tom Baker-voiced deus ex machinas.
except The Exorcist III is good, and probably would’ve been great if the studio hadn’t done their studio bullshit to it
his velociraptor screech in The Mighty Boosh alone is enough to make him a legend
I don’t think 2003 Clone Wars is considered canon anymore, but I’d have to say it’s probably my favourite piece of Star Wars media ever - pure art. thankfully it’s all on youtube
Boyle’s “hmmmm?” when she said “anti-dextrous” was my biggest laugh by far
I just realised the past two seasons of Fargo have created two strange (but great) celebrity couples - Meth Damon/Kirsten in S2, and Ewan McGregor/Mary Elizabeth Winstead in S3. I guess we should start taking bets on who Hawley is gonna Cupid next
Shaak Ti has a pretty major role in one of the most memorable arcs, which starts Season 6, and she’s also in the premiere of S3 which makes it pretty explicit what her role in the war was. I think that’s about it, apart from maybe some Council cameos
everyone is waiting for the Ahsoka and Mandalore arcs to finally be wrapped up after all this time. I’m impatient as hell for it too - and actually more excited than I’ve been about any other Star Wars property- but this arc seems like a great introduction to the season. the animation is gorgeous! Dee Bradley Baker is…
that tracking shot towards the end as Hunter, Tech and Wrecker stormed the base was absolutely incredible, I can't wait to see Mandalore with this level of animation quality
not from the last decade but she was absolutely terrific in Deadwood - as was every actor who starred in Deadwood
I’d like to use this comment as a springboard to point out how drastically underrated Bringing out the Dead is. that film gave us Nic Cage and John Goodman sharing screentime and no one talks about it? bullshit
must have been some pretty awkward convos between Anakin and the rest of the Jedi once he got into Force heaven too
the Bond theme is pretty good but I absolutely love “When I Was Older”, her song from the Roma companion album. take that haunted vibe and put it underwater and that’s a pretty good description
Bright Eyes’ “Lover I Don’t Have to Love” is definitely in the conversation here. creepy as hell and I always feel kinda gross after listening to it, but goddamn that shit slaps
I’m pretty sure this movie will be a goddamn mess, and everything from the set seems to confirm that. having said that, between Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Rami Malek and Fukunaga, it will probably be a very interesting mess, which I’ll take over the last boring-ass movie any day
it’s a super weird review. obviously mentioning weaker aspects of the album is a must, but focusing your entire Tame Impala review around his lyrics and ignoring everything else is like reviewing a Pink Floyd album for the drums. like c’mon - “A conversation about the nature of devotion turns into Parker telling the…
