there’s just been so little Holt/Jake this season so far that I’m taking what I can get

this is a phenomenal comment
I was never sure if the writing in S1 was any good or if it was just being delivered by an absolutely phenomenal cast of actors. It’s seriously one of the best and most accurate lineups I’ve ever seen from a book that I liked.
imagining seeing Pusha T and Belle & Sebastian on the same day is incredibly funny to me
just ask Angel and Spike!
the way his voice raises during these lines, good god
Familiars is very possibly my favourite Antlers, I hope we get something more like that. Understated grace.
also weird because The Other is basically confirmed to be The Doctor so why have two entries for him?
I’ve played both plenty of times and given them plenty of chances, they’re just not really for me. Good albums, just not the band I love.
I don’t hate you, but I’d disagree - the run of five songs that ends Alligator is one of my favourites in all music, I think it was peak Berninger as far as lyrics go and the rawness of the production really fits them on that album. Boxer is truly incredible and a near favourite of mine, after High Violet I’ll admit…
I think this season is on three absolute home runs in a row now, and the Hitchcock and Scully/Gina’s leaving episodes were also really strong. The Tattler and the latest Pontiac Bandit episodes are the only ones that have landed less strongly. but I suppose we’re comparing it to S5 - which is the best season of this…
I love it when people say “god, Weezer have been so bad since Pinkerton, there’s just nothing in there worth listening to, btw I never checked The White Album but I know it’s not good”
Alligator is still their peak, but, nice
right, plus Rami as (I’m guessing) the villain? I’m not even huge on the series but this sounds spectacular
or, you know, they like barbershop quartet and wanted to have some fun. the same way they’ve been doing since literally The Blue Album which people are determined to blindly praise to the point of ignoring all the good shit they’ve done since. does this mean, by your logic, they’ve always been performing monkeys?
your choice ringworm, Everything Will Be Alright and The White Album were universally well-received and already pretty beloved everywhere I lurk but aight
it’s almost like they wanted to shake up the arrangement of an old song instead of playing the exact same version of it for the thousandth time to please the stuck-up fans who refuse to listen past Pinkerton! how dare they?
this was the thing that bothered me about the article - are we really remembering him as “the Talk Talk frontman behind hit singles like “It’s My Life” and “Life’s What You Make It,””, rather than “the Talk Talk frontman behind literally perfect albums Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock”?
re: Russian Doll, that was my favourite last shot of a season in a long long time
yeah how is William Jackson Harper not like the headline draw for this? I shouldn’t have to read most of the article to get to goddamn WJH
