Bernthal does look pretty different from the guy who played Johnny Boy Soprano, but I don’t know if that will really matter. He absolutely has the chops for the role.

Vera has gotta be Livia, right?

The Visit was really fun, I wish he’d just leaned into it being a full-blown comedy

“his sprawling second LP is nothing short of a modern classic.”

as soon as I read “not that dumb!” the entirety of that scene started playing in my head frame by frame

I think Micro by himself puts Punisher in the top 5, probably the best non-Matt character in the whole universe. add in a great Bernthal performance and two pretty good villains and you have a show that’s consistently very good even if it never reaches the highs the others could reach

Jessica Jones s1 is way too riddled with filler and obvious feet-dragging to take the top spot too, pretty much as soon as Kilgrave’s parents come in the mixture it’s a hot mess until the end. there’s at least an argument to be made for Punisher, which uses its time wisely, but it’s a fight between DD1 and DD3 to the

Defenders above... well anything, but especially Daredevil Season 3 is ridiculous. RIDICULOUS

hey in fairness I needed a good brain melt tonight, and not having a DVD copy of Suspiria handy this was a decent substitute :P

the double act of Suspiria being overrated and, uh, Tomb Raider being underrated was a bit of a brain melter too

Nearer My God is absolutely fucking incredible

yeah - it’s almost a shame Dushku doesn’t get to play such a pivotal moment in Faith’s arc, but man, that’s probably Sarah’s best acting outside of The Body. the look on her face just after she stops punching is haunting

the end of Who Are You? when she’s punching Buffy in Faith’s body and calling her a piece of garbage is fucking intense

yeah, probably my winner for the year as far as production goes (Some Rap Songs is its only real competition there). a gorgeous album made tragic by the circumstances.

Swimming for emotional impact, thoughtfulness and just outright beauty. DROGAS wave for stunning attention to detail, incredible concept and Lupe Fiasco being Lupe Fiasco at his best. both huge omissions from this list

this is a pretty good ranking. I think 9 would actually rank as the highest for me in overall quality, but the nostalgia and sense of wonder I had watching 5 for the first time was when I really fell in love with this show and that is a hard thing to forget. I’d also probably put 3 at the bottom every single time, lol

as much as I really enjoyed Demons of the Punjab, I think It Takes You Away should be the standard they hold the scripts for next season up to. the first episode that felt like it was actually interested in exploring what Thirteen was capable of

“a long clip of his father’s friend, the jazz musician Hugh Masekela”

hilarious seeing GZA spit one verse and then just go on his phone for the rest of the performance, can’t say I expected any different. INS and Rae were having a lot of fun

my only problem with this album was Colossus was so fucking good the rest of the album had no hope of following it
