Check this - I had a huge bout of stress which manifested in heart palpitations. The doctor could find no heart issues (ECG, X-rays etc). I chilled and got well BUT my health insurance now won’t cover any emerging heart conditions. Even though it was completely psychosomatic!

At no point did I say you had to remove the clothes to make characters more sexualised. And I would suggest that gay men and straight women would both want something different. Or maybe not. The point, which I keep coming back to, is this wasn’t tried with any real conviction.

Men and women absolutely want to look good and love looking at attractive men and women. Ranting on about bras and facelifts is a poor diversionary tactic. It wasn’t outdated because it had tits and I have no problem with fan service. It was that in 1995 Namco were giving off a distinctly ‘80s vibe.

Sorry Daniel, I don’t think you’re being intellectually honest here. There’s an obvious difference in the way the female and male characters are modelled and treated. With a huge bias to creating appeal to what I believe was an outdated male fantasy two decades ago.

Yeah but you don’t sexualise a man just by making his muscles bigger. Some women will want muscle-bound men, other will want a leaner build. Some women want playful or camp, other want edgy tattooed. Either way you sexualise them with character design and camera work, and I’m not talking about gratuatous crotch…
