NZ Birds are beautiful and tragic. I see the cute Pukekos walking about everyday but then you have the Haast Eagle (larger than the largest vultures) and the giant Moa which were hunted to distinction in 1400s. I would dearly love to have seen those fantastic (and bloodchilling) beasts.
