Uh, I never played it, but I’m going to keep shouting “too woke!” from over here with my fingers in my ears, if you don’t mind?

I mean, I didn’t read a synopsis, I never watched video, I didn’t see anyone else play it, but I have been told it is woke, therefore I’m going to screech that out to the universe ad

It still is childish. The number of people who still have these reactions is shocking.

Part 2 is fantastic but the negative reaction it got sure was childish.

How is Joel less sympathetic in the show? I actually thought they were intentionally dialing him way down to make the ending a more shocking contrast.

i think what a lot of people are missing is that just because the creators say they want to make ellie a certain way doesn’t mean they were 100% successful. to me she came across as mostly traumatized, but the context changes once you hear what they intended for it to come across as. and it’s especially interesting

Everyone seems primed to react to these articles defensively or whatever, but honestly, in this case, it’s something I picked up on as well during my first watch of the show. They’re definitely treating Ellie differently and trying to push that she is more innately violent than in the game. To me it seems clear to be

I liked Marlene’s speech at the end, although it’s a bit ironic since she didn’t ask Ellie either what she wanted (although she’s not wrong that Ellie would probably go through with it). Marlene misjudges Joel until the very end, to her doom.

Crazy how many people out here shilling for MSFT like the gaming world will somehow magically be a better place if they can buy ActiBlizz

Dead Space 2 & 3 are already on Game Pass through EA Play, this is just adding it to the cloud. Kind of a cheap way to pad out the month by making it feel like they’re adding more than they actually are.

It’s also pretty damn silly because the whole “JRPGs is racist man” thing is from around then, but the term JRPG had been around, and not regarded as problematic by anyone, including JRPG devs, for about 15 years before that, and existed after it, and still isn’t regarded as problematic except by people who were a bit

Self-deprecating humor works best when it comes from one's self. There are plenty things I'll say about myself that I would also find offensive coming from someone else.

I’m a senior vfx artist who has worked on 6 Marvel films across 3 different vfx studios. None of those 6 films contain my best work and most of them I don’t even include on my showreel because I’m not proud of the work I did in them. Marvel is a notoriously difficult client to work with and, in my experience, the lack

Yeah... nobody’s issue with this merger has anything to do with whether or not Microsoft will handle the IPs well.

100% agree that the health issues associated with obesity are a social problem. You’ve left out poverty, though. The “real bread” you mention is a lot more expensive than the less nutritious bread with added sugar.

Two things can be true: obese people should be treated with dignity, respect, love, and validation; and we need to confront the food problems that are causing unhealthy obesity and killing people. The former is a social issue; the latter needs to be led by the agencies who are supposedly built to help combat public

While I think they probably should have designed this to be more accommodating, but less than 40" waistline isn’t “thin”, at least for dudes.

Source: I’m around 38" and I’m a bit of a fat fuck.

As now more studios have now decided to follow Warner Discovery’s lead and run with the whole “let’s dump completed projects for a tax write down”, the whole “this specific project sucked too much to release!” excuse is holding less and less water. It’s also an impressive new level of shitting on creatives to try to

I’m assuming ‘successful’ here means ‘met or exceeded new/retained subscriber goals during show’s initial run’.  Netflix seems like it’s run by living breathing metrics and not human beings.

You really pointed out the problem and then drifted off?
The PS5 and Xbox only have 16gb of RAM. When they need to run textures for a game, it has to use that RAM up. And it also has to use that same RAM for everything esle.

PC’s have 4+ gbs of VRAM that can handle the textures and such. So it shouldn’t require double

What a lot of people forget is that Steam itself is a DRM. That’s why you can’t archive the games on it; they don’t work without Steam (or cracked executables/Steam emulators).
